Equipment Overview
MP NexLevel will be utilizing the following equipment package:
• TM470Rv9 (HEP Replacement)• PTO• Ruggedized wedge antenna with
optional bracket
All installations must be completed as set forth in this installation specification guide. Any deviation requires approval from the National Vehicle Support Manager or from the Director of Field Service. Additionally, MP NexLevel must approve all deviations.
MP NexLevel Installation Requirements
• All power connections must be either soldered or directly to a bus bar.• Both power leads of the TM470Rv9 must be connected to ignition, as MP Nexlevel does
not want undue drain on the equipment batteries.• All cabling must be neatly routed and run, using zip-ties to secure the wiring.• All connections made in the vehicle and all connections on the TM470R must be tamper-
sealed using the provided Torque Seal.• The TM470R must be securely mounted , with screws or nuts and bolts being preferred, as
off-highway equipment is subject to severe vibration.• Prior to contacting Verification, use the diagnostics app on the CTO7 to verify the IP, the
GPS signal, the wireless signal, the PTO status (on/off), and the ignition status (on/off).• When installing a PTO sense, ensure the correct polarity input is utilized. Due to the
severe conditions, relays to change polarity will not be acceptable to the customer.• Upon the completion of the installation, the technician must call for verification at
714.934.8770. The verification code provided at the end of the call must be notated, as it is a requirement for payment.
• When contacting the verification desk, ensure that the representative inputs the correct hour reading to ensure that the utilization reports accumulate hours correctly.
• The specifications in this guide must be followed exactly, as the equipment is extremely expensive and highly sensitive. Any deviations from specification must be approved by Randy Schmoll of MPN and Brennan Connelly or Shelton Simmons of Teletrac.
TM470R Internal Battery
Prior to installing the TM470Rv9, the case must be opened and the battery must be connected to the board, as shown at right. The battery is not connected prior to shipping to ensure that the battery is fully charged upon installation.
PTO Connections
Only a subset of equipment will be equipped to monitor PTO. The equipment-specific pages will detail as to which assets will require PTO monitoring.
There are two main types of PTOs to be connected: Seat switch and pressure transducer. The PTO connections will be made without relays, thus positive trigger PTOs will be connected to the orange wire on the TM470R harness, and negative trigger PTOs will be connected to the grey wire. It is imperative that the connections are well documented to ensure that the system is correctly configured on the back end.

Power Connections: Both of the power leads from the TM470R will be connected to the switched ignition lead at the rear of the ignition switch, as shown at top right. This power source must first be verified with a digital multimeter . The ignition switch is accessed by removing the Allen screws from the metal dash bezel.
Sensor/PTO Connections: No sensor or PTO connections are required for this equipment type.
CAUTION: All power and PTO sources must be verified using a digital multimeter(DMM). The use of a test light will result in immediate termination.
All deviations from this specification must be approved by MPN and Teletrac.

Antenna Placement: The antenna is generally mounted beneath the plastic cover over the gauge cluster. If this location is not available, the antenna can be mounted in a logical place inside of the cab, where there is no risk of damage or interference with the operator. The antenna cable must be run through a 3/8” hole in the cover, which must be protected with a snap-grommet. The cabling must be protected with split-loom and run away from any moving parts or heat sources.
TM470R Placement: The TM470R must be secured with nuts and bolts to the inside of the lower dash panel, adjacent to the throttle, as show at lower right. On some of the smaller Komatsus, it may be necessary to securely ziptiethe device between two braces.

TM470R Placement: The TM470R must be secured with nuts and bolts the metal brace, adjacent to the battery, on the right side of the engine, as shown at bottom right.

The ignition switch is accessed by removing the gauge cluster and by removing the retaining nut on the front of the ignition switch.
Sensor/PTO Connections: No sensor or PTO connections are required for this equipment type.

Antenna Placement: The antenna is to be mounted to the top of the console, on the right side of the equipment. The cable must be routed through a 3/8” entry hole and protected with a snap-grommet. The cabling must be protected with split-loom and run away from any moving parts or heat sources.
TM470R Placement: The TM470R must be secured with nuts and bolts to the front panel of the equipment, behind the gauge cluster, as shown at bottom right.

This power source must first be verified with a digital multimeter . The rear of the fuse panel is readily accessible without removing any panels, as shown at top right.
Sensor/PTO Connections: The orange positive lead from the TM470R must be connected to the output of the after-market hydraulic sensor. Please consult MPN fleet for the location of this sensor, as it may vary from machine to machine. The lead from this sensor may be quite long, and will need to be protected with split loom. Please ensure that the routing avoids any moving parts and heat sources, and is properly secured. The entry hole into the machine must be protected with a snap-grommet.
CAUTION: All power and PTO sources must be verified using a digital multimeter (DMM). The use of a test light will result in immediate termination.

Sensor Installation: In certain pieces of equipment, MPN will be installing a hydraulic sensor. On some machines, this sensor may be just behind the gauge cluster, while on others it may be at a test port. If the location of the sensor is not readily evident, please consult a MPN fleet representative.
The sensor wiring is as follows:
• Brown- Tie into ignition source for TM470R. Fuse at 5a.
• Blue- Ground with TM470R ground wire.
• White- Positive output. Connect to Orange positive input on TM470R.
• Black- Cut short and secure. Not used for this application.

Antenna Placement: The antenna is to be mounted to the right window, without the mounting bracket, as shown at top right. The antenna cable should be neatly routed down the wiring harness.
TM470R Placement: The TM470R must be secured with nuts and bolts to the panel adjacent to the fuse panel, as shown at bottom right.

Power Connections: Both of the power leads from the TM470R will be connected to the switched ignition at the rear of the keyswitch, as shown at top right. This power source must first be verified with a digital multimeter .
Sensor/PTO Connections: No sensor or PTO connections are required for this equipment type.
CAUTION: All power and PTO sources must be verified using a digital multimeter (DMM). The use of a test light will result in immediate termination.
All deviations from this specification must be approved by MPN and Teletrac.

Antenna Placement: The antenna is to be mounted to the top left of the roof, using nuts and bolts or self-tapping screws, as shown at top right. The cable must be routed through a 3/8” entry hole and protected with a snap-grommet.
TM470R Placement: The TM470R is to be mounted underneath the roof, forward and left, using nuts and bolts or self-tapping screws, as shown at bottom right.

Installation Guidelines:
• All power connections must either be soldered (Wire to wire connections) or connected with ring terminals (Terminal posts/bus bars)
• Any power, sensor, or antenna connections that will be directly exposed to the elements must be protected with shrink-tubing.
• All power connections and sensor connections must be verified with a digital multimeter. Test lights are not an acceptable alternative, and their usage will result in immediate termination.
• All TM470Rs must be mounted with nuts and bolts or self-tapping screws, unless specifically noted otherwise in this guide.
• No deviations from the specifications set forth in this guide will be accepted without the approval of MPN and Teletrac.
