There are beautiful beaches, excellent surfing, extensive national parks, unique arts and crafts and delicious fresh seafood including the famous Yamba prawn at award winning restaurants, cafes and seafood shops.
You can hire "a tinny" or a houseboat or just dangle a fishing line. The passenger ferry service and river cruises are another great way to explore the magnificent river and the delights of the Clarence Coast.

Excellent table fish. Bream will bite on most good fish baits. Try beach worms, mullet gut, prawns, squid and crabs. Found in bays, lakes, tidal rivers, estuaries as well as off ocean rocks and beaches. Try Woody Head, Brown Rocks, Goodwood Island, Lake Wooloweyah, the Oyster Channel, Romiaka Channel.
Average table fish. Prefer cunjevoi but can be attracted with a berley of stale bread and caught with bread crust, prawn or crab.
Found in turbulent white water preferring to stay in crevices or patches of deep water near rocks. Try Woody Head, The Bluff; One Man Rock, Shelley Headland and Lover’s Point.
Good table fish. Mainly vegetarian in diet preferring weed or sea cabbage. Found in broken water round ocean rocks. TOP SPOTS: Try Woody Head, Middle Wall, Collis’ Wall and Turkey’s Nest.
Good table fish. This fish will take any good fish bait particularly prawns, bonito, mullet, mackerel, yellow-tail, flathead and lures. A trace is advisable. Found in estuaries, bays, lakes, tidal rivers and on shallow flats just off our coastline. Try downstream of Harwood bridge, Browns Rocks, Goodwood Island, Lake Wooloweyah, the Oyster Channel, Romiaka Channel, Whiting Beach, river's training walls.
