Master’s student in the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics currently working as a Graduate Research Assistant in the CMSC. Current research focus is on simulation of hybrid molding and injection overmolding processes with composite materials. Previous research projects at Purdue have involved simulation compression molding of thermoplastic prepreg flake materials as well as material property characterization for draping simulations. Through IACMI industry partnerships worked at Dassault Systemes testing design for additive manufacturing tools.

Dassault Systemes: Simulia IACMI Internship

Through an IACMI industry partnership with Dassault Systemes, worked as an intern on design for additive manufacturing. Tested latest additive manufacturing simulation tools being developed in Abaqus. Tested optimization tools including shape, topology, and lattice optimizations which could be applied to additively manufactured parts. Made parameter recommendations for additive manufacturing design tools.

RESEARCH INTERESTSCurrent research efforts involve hybrid molding of composite

materials where composite preform sheets and/or wound UD tows are

overmolded in an injection molding process to produce performance

parts with complex features at a high production rate. Primary focus

is in simulating the hybrid molding process to predict manufacturing

process effects and part performance before production.
