Alma Mater
To Hendrick Hudson HighOur song of praise we sing;To our Alma Mater, dear,All honor now we bring. For Hendrick Hudson sailedOver the unknown sea;Through storm and tempest, Through the raging billows,Never a fear had he;
Though now he’s gone forever;His name shall never die,While we are loyal, steadfastly loyalTo Our Hendrick Hudson High.
Welcome and Good Evening to All....Tonight we bring together alumni, athletes, coaches, families and commu-nity members to celebrate and honor the achievements of an elite group of athletes and one outstanding team. Collectively, they have distin-guished themselves in a diversified field of sports including wrestling, track and field, baseball, skating, swimming, lacrosse and football.
The Hendrick Hudson High School Athletic Hall of Fame was established in 2006 to strengthen the bond of its athletes of the past with those of the present and the future. For the inductees and many of us in the room to-night participating in high school sports as a Hen Hud Sailor was a mean-ingful contributor toward shaping our futures. It is this spirit of community that inspires the next generation of athletes.
Each year, this growing organization increases its support of our athletes, school and our community. In addition to annually inducting a new class of Hall of Fame athletes, the Hall of Fame supports numerous school pro-jects, which the Hall of Fame donated $250 to the Hendrick Hudson Com-munity Educational Foundations Healthy on The Hudson Fundraiser and donated the T-shirts for Homecoming Week, it also sponsors fundraisers for community members in need, and each year provides two $500 scholar-ships to graduating student athletes. We congratulate our 2013 winners: Kennedy Sherman and Connor Briggi.
The good works of the Hall of Fame would not happen without the tireless efforts of our committee members who meet monthly to carry out our mis-sion. Sub-committees are formed and are responsible for nominating and selecting the inductees, staffing and participating in fundraisers and or-ganizing the annual Tribute Dinner. On behalf of my fellow officers, Colleen Lonergan,John Mattis and Ken Sherman, I would like to commend and thank them. The entire committee invites all interested volunteers to join us at future meetings, which are held in the high school; meeting dates for 2013/2014 are listed in the journal.
Enjoy the rest of the evening and I look forward to seeing you all at future Sailor events. Sailor Pride!

The Rotary Athlete of the Year, he anchored Hendrick Hud-son’s heat winning 400m relay at the Penn Relays. That relay team went on to win a Section One Championship and also place at the State Meet. It is still the only Hen Hud relay to accomplish these feats. He will forever be remem-bered for his senior WISE project and gift to Westch-
ester Track and Field. He researched and published a compilation of all of the past results of the Westchester County Spring Track and Field Championship Meet for the 50th anniversary of the meet which Hen Hud hosted that year. He presented that book-let to the past county cham-pions that he contacted and invited to attend the meet. He then went out and added his name to the list, winning the 200 meter dash.
After high school he obtained a degree in Aviation Science and continued competing in track at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. He
