• Independent Study (PSY 495)– Conduct research with a

faculty member– One semester

• Honors Thesis (PSY 496 & 498)– Conduct more in-depth

research with a faculty committee

Applied Experiences

• Volunteer-Service Learning– Courses with 15-40 hour community service

requirement

• Field Internship (PSY 488)– Work 150 hours (12 hours / week) in community

setting + weekly class

– Junior or senior year, GPA requirements

• Teaching Internship (PSY 488)– Assist a faculty member with a class (e.g., lead

review sessions)

• Grades: High as possible– >3.0 for MA, >3.5 for Ph.D
