72th Independence Day, 2018 was celebrated with great enthusiasm and respect at Dinsha
Patel college of Nursing. The celebration started at 8:30 a.m with the escort the chief guest with
parade by NSS volunteers followed by welcome of the guests and hoisting of National Flag. To
commemorate the sovereignty of our nation, Shri Dinsha Patel (Ex. Govt. Minister and President of
Mahagujarat Medical Society, Nadiad) unfurled the tricolour flag and all in unison Salute and sang
the National Anthem to pay homage to the nation. Shri Dinsha Patel (Ex. Govt. Minister) Address the
audience he urged the students to search for new fields of work and to be careful towards health and
hygiene. He said that the sovereignty and integrity of the country should be maintained. The
celebration ended with vote of thanks. All the staff members were present at the occasion. Sweets and
Breakfast were distributed at the end of the programme.

NSS BLOOD DONATION CAMP REPORT
15 JUNE 2018
The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit Dinsha Patel College of Nursing, Nadiad, Managed by
Mahagujarat Medical Society, Nadia, in association with Indian Redcross Soceity, nadiad have
organized Blood donation camp in the college premises on 15th June 2018.
Blood donation is one of the most significant contributions that a person can make towards the
society. The body of the donor can regenerate the blood within few days. It poses no threat to the
metabolism of the body. There were 43 units of blood collected. The faculties and students of
Dinsha Patel college of nursing generously donated blood and also participated in event
enthusiastically.
The trustees and Members of Mahagujarat medical society Honorable Shree Dinsha Patel (President of
MMS), shree B.T. Desai (Chairman of MSS), Shree Anup Desai (Secretary of MSS), Shri Parimal Desai
(Member of MMS), Dr. B.H. Shelat ( Director of Dinsha Patel College of Nursing) visited the camp to
motivate the students and Faculty.

Theme (2018) :- “Beat Plastic Pollution”
We feel much privileged as India named the Global Host of World Environment Day 2011 with
its theme ‘Forest: Nature at Your Service’
The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit Dinsha Patel College of Nursing, Nadiad, Managed by
Mahagujarat Medical Society, Nadia, has celebrated „World Environment Day' on 5th June,
2018.
During celebration the Awareness rally was carried out at Nadiad city. The rally was started from
Nagarpalika to Santram Mandir. The Kheda District Collector shown green single to begin the
rally. In rally 120 NSS volunteers take part and motivate the peoples to refuse the use of plastic
and in order to reduce the plastic pollution. The NSS volunteers and Faculties of Dinsha Patel
College of nursing enthusiastically participated in rally.
The NSS Volunteers and Faculties sward the oath for “Swach Bharat” and do not use the plastic,
for contribution to make India Clean and Plastic Free.

In the month of August-2018 some of the worst rainfall in 100 years caused devastating
flooding in Kearla. For weeks, floods ravaged the surrounding communities, claimed more than
500 lives, and caused extensive damage. Heavy rains and the subsequent flooding in Kerala have
wreaked havoc in several parts of the state. As houses have been completely waterlogged and
destroyed, many have become homeless and taken refuge in relief camps. Several people have even
been marooned in their own houses, without food, water, electricity and other basic supplies.
The National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers of Dinsha Pstel College of Nursing, and Share
& Care Department has come forward and started fund collection drive for contribution in Chief
Ministers Disaster Relief Fund (CMDRF) Kerala. The NSS Volunteers are fully involved in the Fund
collection activities. Continuously two days NSS Volunteers has Collected fund at various site of
Nadiad Such as (DPCN, MMS Hospital, JS Ayurveda College, and Various Public Places of Nadiad).
All the students and Faculties of DPCN enthusiastically participated and donated fund as their own
willingness.
The total amount of fund Rs.25,000 was collected and deposited in the Chief Ministers
Disaster Relief Fund (CMDRF) bank Account.

DAY-01 02-02-2019, SATURDAY
The day kick started with lot of enthusiasm and a spirit of team work rose in everyone’s heart.
We started from Dinsha Patel College of Nursing, Nadiad around 8:00 am and reached destination at
8:30 am.
Taking the first step into the village, every one of the NSS volunteers were filled a gleaming
sense of responsibility to do something which can be summarized as ‘NOT ME NOT YOU, BUT
WE!’ Firstly, everyone was assigned the work of setting up the centre stage of all the activity meant
to be done all the seven days.
The inaugural function started with invoking prayers to Goddess Saraswati the one who
removes obstacles by the ones who have melodious voices and later the inaugural function.
The inaugural function started with a speech by the program organizer Ms. Manali Patel,
Followed by Welcome Speech delivered by Mr. Virendra Jain Principal of DPCN who welcome all
the Guest invitees. The chief guests of the day was Shri B.T. Desai Chairman of Mahagujarat medical
Society, Nadiad. Guest of Honor was Dr. Ravit Patel (MO PHC Palana), Other Dignitaries were Dr.
Sonal Brahmabhat AYUSH Doctor PHC Palana.

Cleanliness Drive (Swachh Bharat Abhiyan)
The day start with morning physical exercise, assembly and NSS Volunteers took NSS Pledge. NSS
Volunteers actively participated in the Clean India Mission (Swachhta Abhiyan at Palana Hospital) followed
by Prepared Banners and Poster for World Cancer Day Rally.

World Cancer Day Celebration and Awareness Rally on World cancer day and Eye Donation and Eye Camp
at Palana village. And Personality Development training Programme.
NSS Volunteers participated in world cancer day awareness rally at Palana Villages for making the
villagers aware about the Importance of cancer prevention and Eye Donation and Organ Donation along with
information passed to the villagers about Free Eye Check-up Camp at Palana Primary Health Centre.

Wake-up in the morning continued with physical exercise and yoga. Day started with delicious
breakfast and student gathered for routine assembly and prayer. The instructions was given to the
volunteers about day activities. HIV AIDS Quiz Competition and Awareness game By Mr. Pankaj
Patel and Mital Patel from Gujarat AIDS Awareness and Prevention Unit Ahmedabad.
At afternoon volunteers have a guest lecture on Personality Development, the topic was goal setting
At evening to refresh the mind students did recreational activities and Camp Fire.

School Health Programme.
Wake-up in the morning, continued with physical exercise, yoga. Day started with delicious breakfast
then volunteers gathered over for routine assembly and prayer.

At afternoon volunteers have a guest lecture on Personality Development, the topic was Attitude
and Motivation, lecture taken by Ms. Ratna Desai, Mr. Ratnadeep and Ms.Krishna Desai From JCI

Valedictory Ceremony of 07 Special Camp
The valedictory ceremony started with evoking prayer to lord almighty then function started with a
speech by MOC of the function Mr. Pragnesh, followed by Mrs. Arpita Vaidhya Vice-Principal At
DPCN who welcomed all the guests the Chief guest was Shri Sumanbhai Saikh, Vice Chairman of
Mahagujarat medical Society, Nadiad, Guest of honor Shri Anup Desai Secretary at Mahagujarat
medical Society, other dignitaries were Dr. B.H. Shelat Director of DPCN, Mr. Prakash vagel
Sarpanch Palana, Mrs. Arpita Vaidhya Vice Principal DPCN and Mr.Nickson Das. the Chief guest of
the ceremony has felicitated NSS Volunteers with certificate as a token of appreciation of completion
of the 07 Days Special NSS Camp.
Followed by guests addressed to the volunteers with motivational speech, camp feedback was
presented by NSS Volunteer Ms. Dhrasti Patel at last Vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Kailash
Nagar Nss Unit Programme officer, than we all pack-up our luggage to depart to our college.

A free medical health check up camp for Peoples those who are living at Hariom-Nagar, Nadiad
(Urban Slum Area) was organized on 09 September 2018 at Dinsha Patel College of Nursing Campus,
Nadiad. Camp was organized in association with Mahagujarat Hospital Nadiad and P.D. Ayurved
Hospital, Nadiad. The 04 team members of Hospital including 02 Physician, 2 nurses arrived at the
College at 9.00 AM. Free Physical examination along with free Blood Sugar, Blood Pressure, Height,
weight, respiration, temperature, BMI etc were provided by the Hospital. Mahagujarat Hospital
Nadiad and P.D. Ayurved Hospital, Nadiad Also given an registration card to the every patients for
some discount on remaining other diagnosis tests and Treatment in their Hospital.
Approximate 200 Patients from the Hariom-nagar, Nadiad came for the Health Check up. Doctors
advised them various medicines and consultation during the camp.
Camp was successfully organized under the guidance of Secretary of MMS Shri Anupbhai
Desai, Professor Mr. Trilok Sompura (HOD of CHN Dept.), NSS Programme Officer Mr. Kailash
Nagar.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY REPORT

Theme (2018) :- “Beat Plastic Pollution”
We feel much privileged as India named the Global Host of World Environment Day 2011 with
its theme ‘Forest: Nature at Your Service’
The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit Dinsha Patel College of Nursing, Nadiad, Managed by
Mahagujarat Medical Society, Nadia, has celebrated „World Environment Day' on 5th June,
2018.
During celebration the Awareness rally was carried out at Nadiad city. The rally was started from
Nagarpalika to Santram Mandir. The Kheda District Collector shown green single to begin the
rally. In rally 120 NSS volunteers take part and motivate the peoples to refuse the use of plastic
and in order to reduce the plastic pollution. The NSS volunteers and Faculties of Dinsha Patel
College of nursing enthusiastically participated in rally.
