The celebration started at 8:30 a.m with the escort the chief guest with parade by NSS volunteers followed by welcome of the guests and hoisting of National Flag. To commemorate the sovereignty of our nation, Shri Dinsha Patel (Ex. Govt. Minister and President of Mahagujarat Medical Society, Nadiad) unfurled the tricolour flag and all in unison Salute and sang the National Anthem to pay homage to the nation. Shri Dinsha Patel (Ex. Govt. Minister) Address the audience he urged the students to search for new fields of work and to be careful towards health and hygiene. He said that the sovereignty and integrity of the country should be maintained. The celebration ended with vote of thanks. All the staff members were present at the occasion. NSS BLOOD DONATION CAMP REPORT
15 JUNE 2018
The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit Dinsha Patel College of Nursing, Nadiad, Managed by
Mahagujarat Medical Society, Nadia, in association with Indian Redcross Soceity, nadiad have
organized Blood donation camp in the college premises on 15th June 2018.
Blood donation is one of the most significant contributions that a person can make towards the
society. The body of the donor can regenerate the blood within few days. It poses no threat to the
metabolism of the body. There were 43 units of blood collected. The faculties and students of
Dinsha Patel college of nursing generously donated blood and also participated in event
enthusiastically.
The trustees and Members of Mahagujarat medical society Honorable Shree Dinsha Patel (President of
MMS), shree B.T. Desai (Chairman of MSS), Shree Anup Desai (Secretary of MSS), Shri Parimal Desai
(Member of MMS), Dr. B.H. Shelat ( Director of Dinsha Patel College of Nursing) visited the camp to
motivate the students and Faculty.

Theme (2018) :- “Beat Plastic Pollution”
We feel much privileged as India named the Global Host of World Environment Day 2011 with
its theme ‘Forest: Nature at Your Service’
The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit Dinsha Patel College of Nursing, Nadiad, Managed by
Mahagujarat Medical Society, Nadia, has celebrated „World Environment Day' on 5th June,
2018.
During celebration the Awareness rally was carried out at Nadiad city. The rally was started from
Nagarpalika to Santram Mandir. The Kheda District Collector shown green single to begin the
rally. In rally 120 NSS volunteers take part and motivate the peoples to refuse the use of plastic
and in order to reduce the plastic pollution. The NSS volunteers and Faculties of Dinsha Patel
College of nursing enthusiastically participated in rally.
The NSS Volunteers and Faculties sward the oath for “Swach Bharat” and do not use the plastic,
for contribution to make India Clean and Plastic Free.

In the month of August-2018 some of the worst rainfall in 100 years caused devastating
flooding in Kearla. For weeks, floods ravaged the surrounding communities, claimed more than
500 lives, and caused extensive damage. Heavy rains and the subsequent flooding in Kerala have
wreaked havoc in several parts of the state. As houses have been completely waterlogged and
destroyed, many have become homeless and taken refuge in relief camps. Several people have even
been marooned in their own houses, without food, water, electricity and other basic supplies.
The National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers of Dinsha Pstel College of Nursing, and Share
& Care Department has come forward and started fund collection drive for contribution in Chief
Ministers Disaster Relief Fund (CMDRF) Kerala. The NSS Volunteers are fully involved in the Fund
collection activities. Continuously two days NSS Volunteers has Collected fund at various site of
Nadiad Such as (DPCN, MMS Hospital, JS Ayurveda College, and Various Public Places of Nadiad).
All the students and Faculties of DPCN enthusiastically participated and donated fund as their own
willingness.
The total amount of fund Rs.25,000 was collected and deposited in the Chief Ministers
Disaster Relief Fund (CMDRF) bank Account.
