How do they use market based analysis?

They use market based analysis by looking at customer receipts. They analyze the number of times that items are bought together. They also analyze which displays and items are looked at and picked up both in the store and online.

How do they use promotion targeting?

They use promotion targeting by highlighting certain products with endcap displays. They also send out marketing to the main customer market. This marketing is highly specific. They choose the customers to market promotions to by analyzing certain profile traits, products or contents that are viewed, products that are added to the cart, order amount or quantities, and the amount of time spend in the stores.

How do they use assortment planning?

They use assortment planning by analyzing all of the info collected in order to decide which brands and products sell best. A company like Walmart would be wasting time and money if they carried brands that didn’t sell. They use assortment planning to avoid this debacle.
