EDITOR’S LETTER
Our Summer Style Icons..Kate Moss
Kate Moss, 41, is still the epitome of cool. She was discovered at the age of 14 and has been on many magazine covers over the years. Her easy feel style is something we admire.
Elizabeth Hurley, 50, started her modelling career at 29. In the 1990s she became known as Hugh Grants girlfriend. She accompanied him to the film premiere, Four Weddings And A Funeral wearing a plunging black Versace dress held together with gold safety pins.
Christie Brinkley, 61, gained worldwide fame in the late 1970s. She has appeared on over 500 magazine covers.

Terence Jansen Van Vuuren owner of Terenzo reflects on the lessons that have carried him through the years… When did you start?
Terenzo Hairdressing International opened in 1993.How many salons do you own?Three salons and we recently launched our new product range called ‘Terenzo Professional Haircare’.What made you go on your own?I had a unique concept which I believed in.If you could do one thing differently, what would it be?Be kinder to myself.Toughest decision I’ve ever had to make…Finding a balance between Johannesburg, Cape Town and International. The key to happiness is…Inner peace and contentment.I know my salon made it when… The honest truth is, one never knows that! You always have to stay on your toes, keep your feet on the ground and not become arrogant as that is a very dangerous space to find yourself in. So work hard, work smart and love what you do. The advice I’m glad I never took?People can speak fear into you about all the types of risk an entrepeneur has to take. There’s always 10 reasons why you shouldn’t take an opportunity but there are 20 reasons why you should, so I’m very happy I didn’t listen. What advice do you give young stylists?Understand that this is a career and not a job. Compete against yourself and not your colleagues. Focus on getting your hair skill up to the highest level possible for your creativity and never stop learning. What hairstyles and colours do we have to look forward to in 2016?What’s exciting for me about fashion is there are certain elements that do influence us that’s often inspired by celebrities or other fashion collections, however, most of the shapes, textures and colours are designed around the actual individual. People are not fashion clones anymore and I love it.Turn to page 61 to read more on Terence. www.terenzohairdressing.com
