Overview
• BIM - applied to buildings - has proved it can dramatically improve design, documentation, and built product value
• Precincts - neighbourhoods - are the ‘building blocks’ of our cities and represent the scale at which urban design needs to make its contribution to city performance
• Precinct assessment involves the performance dimensions of low carbon, resilience and sustainability - requiring an integration of BIM, GIS and infrastructure

• Exemplar Health is the consortium made up of Capella (financier), Siemens (finance), Spotless (FM) and Lend Lease (D+C builder)$1.8bn development cost, ~165,000 sqm, 450 beds in 2016, growing to a 738 bed facility by 2021SCUH will be a tertiary teaching hospital, servicing the Sunshine Coast region (South East Queensland), as the hub in an integrated network of accessible healthcare.Sunshine Coast Architects is a joint venture between Rice Daubney (ArchiCAD) and ArchitectusBRISBANE (Revit).Approximately 7500 rooms, 114 standard rooms cover 70% of the hospital. Standardisation and modularisation have been key drivers for the project.Use of dRofus, first time in Australia, for managing FF+E, brief compliance, standardisation, scheduling of finishes and doors, etc. Client, Builder, Engineers and Architects all using dRofus through IFC interface so all can view BIM at a macro down to a micro scale, ie from the whole building down to an individual piece of FF+E.
