My Teaching Philosophy

Grading
• 60% - Tests/Projects/Exams
• 25% - Practice Tests/Quizzes
• 15% - Homework Completion/Notebook Check
Math Tests• Tests after every 5 Lessons• Practice test assigned for homework• Students may retake math tests if they score
69% OR LOWER• Student must fill out Request to Test form,
make all corrections and meet with teacher before retest.
• Retest will take place during recess, before school or after school.
• Average of two tests is final grade.
Homework
• Assigned Monday through Thursday night.
• Some Fridays they may have to finish class work if not completed during class.
• Corrected everyday• Worth 15% of the grade
Homework
• 100%: Homework turned in on time and complete
• 70%: 1 day late
• 10 points deducted each day after that

Daily Structure

Parent Responsibility
• Check your child’s Assignment Notebook daily.
• Ask your child to show you their completed work. How does it look?
• Don’t do the work for them.
• Create independent learners.
• Check in with them to make sure they have the supplies they need.
