Greetings,
The launch of Qatar Central Securities Depository was the result of the support and
guidance of His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar,
towards developing the infrastructure of the Qatari capital market.
Qatar Central Securities Depository (QCSD) is the only company licensed by Qatar
Financial Markets Authority to maintain, record, manage, and settle securities and
other financial assets, and to provide all other related financial services in Qatar
and outside Qatar.
QCSD was established as a private joint stock company by its sole founder, Qatar
Central Bank, and was recently joined by Qatar Exchange to become a 25%
shareholder of the company.
QCSD has been implementing its strategy to develop the various aspects of its
business in order to achieve its objectives in its belief in its effective role in
supporting and developing the Qatari capital market and the prosperity of the
Qatari economy.
The company believes in principles of transparency and integrity and provides
information on the ownership of securities to make it a beacon for all investors in
making the right investment decisions. The company attaches special importance
in publishing all data and information of interest to investors through the publication
of monthly reports on its website and other media sources.

Finally, the company is keen to keep up with the latest developments in the
direction of a better future. The company is currently undertaking several important
projects which will have a positive impact on the development of the company's
infrastructure. The most important of these projects is replacing the existing post
trade clearing and settlement system, with sophisticated system. Other critical
projects include distribution of cash dividends, SMS Services, and to apply smart
solutions in Mobile application.

Qatar Central Securities Depository is the sole competent entity which can
maintain, record, manage, and settle securities, and provide all other related
financial services in Qatar and outside. From its inception on January 2, 2014, the
company has adopted best market practice in providing services to all its
customers. To be in line with this approach, the company has successfully
undergone transition to ISO 9001: 2015 Certificate for Quality Management
System) from the reputed BSI (British Standards Institution).
In order to achieve its strategy to improve the level of services provided to its
customers, and understanding critical role in supporting and development of
Qatari Financial market and to respond to investors needs in Qatari capital
market, by adopting latest methods and advanced systems, the company is
pleased to introduce its annual report for the year 2018. The annual report
includes all the statistics of the services provided to both customers and members.
Finally it mentions the current and future projects of the company.

Qatar Central Securities Depository
Qatar Central Securities Depository (QCSD) established by the Qatar Central Bank
(QCB) as part of the reforms for the financial market infrastructure in the state of
Qatar. It has been established for the purpose of risk minimization in post trade
settlements and reduce conflict of interest. QCSD is the only company licensed by
Qatar Financial Market Authority (QFMA) to provide this services.
Central Security Depositories are of great importance because of their active role
in risk management which reflects positively on the economy and strengthens the
confidence of the investors and shareholders.

Developing the Procedures of the Split of Shares’ Nominal Value of
QSE Listed Companies
The Qatar Financial Markets Authority (QFMA) announced that regarding
the split of the shares’ nominal value of QSE listed companies to become
one riyal per share, the QFMA is working in developing the procedures and
the appropriate mechanisms to regulate the process. This step comes as a
part of performing the QFMA’s regulatory and supervisory role over the
capital market in the State. Through this step, the QFMA seeks to increase
the prospects for investment in the financial market, expand the
shareholders base, attract more small investors, give more choice
opportunities for all participants dealing in the QSE, and increase the
liquidity and turnover ratio of shares listed on the market. The QFMA is
exerting more efforts to achieve its mission that aims to regulate and
develop the capital market in line with the QFMA’s Strategic Plan, which is
in harmony with the Financial Sector Plan in the State.

Replacement some of its systems:
QCSD is under way to replace its existing post trade operations systems.
IT Infrastructure:
Another critical strategy which will be executed in line with the system replacement
is the setting up of IT infrastructure including servers, networking, data center, etc.
Mobile Apps solution:
QCSD launched the Android Version of its mobile application and it prepares the
launch of the IOS version
Cash Dividends Distribution:
With the cooperation of the listed companies and banks operating in Qatar, QCSD
intend to develop the project of cash dividends distribution. The infrastructure and
electronic systems required to implement this project are being processed.
