Take a moment
Digital transformation We, have been loosely categorized as "Generations X and Y", and gradually introduced to mobile technology over time and we have seen it evolve to where it is now, while Generation Z have grown up surrounded by mobile and digital technology. Mobile devices are almost second nature to us at this point and it's also worth thinking about what that means for the traveler of tomorrow. Generation Z are the one that will enter workforce around 2020, so as a business we need to adjust, and adapt efforts to stay relevant for the future. Generation Z processes information faster than other generations thanks to apps like Snapchat and Vine. Thus, their attention spans might be significantly lower than Millennials. For travel agencies, the rise of digital has severely disrupted the industry, agencies need to think mobile-first. So, where and how should mobile become part of the digital transformation conversation? As we transition through this digital transformation the core challenge for travel brands in today’s fast-moving world is to gain the attention and loyalty of consumers. Mobile is at the heart of true customer engagement for travel brands, with apps leading the way. “Over the next 10 years, travel industry experts predict that the digital travel space worldwide will expand at an annual rate of 3.8% to reach $11.4 trillion”. 90%of travel brands said that having a mobile strategy is ‘critical’ or ‘very important’ to the future success of their organization The on-demand generation now expects exactly as the name implies, an ‘on-demand’ conversation and if a travel brand is not on a platform where and when the traveler wants you to be next year, don’t expect that ‘demand’ to be there for much longer.
