Anatomy, the brainchild behind these deconstructed novelty treats with a pint-sized 14-seater
space to match. At a surprisingly aordable price of $2.50 per cube, they spin homegrown
avours into wacky modular dishes from the likes of nasi lemak, rice dumpling and laksa pasta –
each so itty-bitty that you can probably wolf down a dozen without a problem. Plus, it’s Instagram
fodder at its nest. We can’t help but admire the artistry that goes into every creation, all
meticulously designed down to the very last layer. Our only gripe was that the cubes are pre-
made and heated up upon order, but they still tasted fresh when served so that shouldn’t be
much of an issue.

I n a digital world where almost anyone (and your next door neighbour) seems to be anup-and-coming “inuencer”, personalities who can truly make their audience sit up and
pay attention are far and few between. And while there isn’t a one-size-ts-all claim to fame,

pay attention are far and few between. And while there isn’t a one-size-ts-all claim to fame,
there are certain key traits successful inuencers possess – and no, none of them involve
having a pretty face. Here are our observations.
#1 GOOD SENSE OF AESTHETICS

Be it their clothes, their makeup, their Instagram feed or even that random #Flatlay – these
inuencers have got their aesthetics game on point. You won’t see any awkward asymmetrical
cropping, over-edited photos, etc. anywhere in their socials either. And while they may be using
the usual photo-editing apps like VSCO or Snapseed, their treatment of the photo will seem
eortlessly gorgeous.
#2 BEING SAVVY ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Not just your average social media user, a successful inuencer is essentially a social media

Not just your average social media user, a successful inuencer is essentially a social media
marketeer. For example, they’ll know the best timings to update their platforms to score the
most likes, the appropriate hashtags to use, and perhaps in-depth analytics should they have
a website/YouTube channel. Understanding these numbers will help in growing their followers –
perhaps learning statistics does come in handy after all?
#3 GOOD LANGUAGE SKILLS
A picture paints a thousand words, but being able to communicate well does matter. You don’t
have to be the most elegant of writers, but basic language skills are a must – all the better to give
context to your photos with, whether it’s introducing the latest food fad or showing o your
#OOTD. And for those looking to make a livelihood o digital and social media, being able to
craft engaging and interesting posts that reect your true personality and opinions will score you
points, at least from an advertiser’s standpoint!
#4 BEING CONFIDENT

Condence is undoubtably one of the most attractive qualities a person can possess, and despite
how intangible it is, this quality will translate both online and o. This rings especially true for
those who are constantly in the spotlight. Posing for an OOTD? No problem! Appearing on
video? Sure! Swag? Check!
#5 HAVING RESILIENCE (OR A THICK SKIN)
As we’re sure you already know, having an active social media presence will increase your
chances of receiving negative attention online. And till the cyber-bullies and trolls of the Internet
learn how to stop, it’s essential to be able to power through whatever’s being thrown your way.
Don’t let the comments of people who don’t even know you, bother you! Like a wise person
once said, “those who matter won’t mind, and those who do, don’t matter”.

#6 HAVING A TRUSTWORTHY REPUTATIONThe rst thing any netizen will learn: don’t trust everything you see on the Internet. In a worldwhere #SponsoredAds are a thing, it’s getting increasingly dicult to discern what’s good, fromwhat’s paid to sound great. Thus, building a trustworthy reputation will go a long way as peoplewill know that your voice is one that they can trust for an #HonestReview!
#7 THE ABILITY TO CURATE GOOD CONTENT
KOREAN MAKEUP TUTORIAL | BELLYWELLYJELLY
No matter the medium, creating good content is tantamount to keepingreaders/viewers/followers coming back for more. And learning how to adapt content accordingto each social media platform is important as well; which platform would be best for conveyingyour message? Is your video going to translate well on Instagram? Or would a YouTube video bebetter? Consider your options and make sure to always create next level content that would bothinterest and engage your audience.
#8 BEING PASSIONATE ABOUT THEIR CRAFT

Before embarking on this path, ask yourself if you truly have the passion for creating content. Many of the recognisable faces in the scene didn’t intentionally start out to be ‘famous’ or‘inuential’ – they simply had an interest that they wanted to share with the rest of the world.Bear in mind that beneath the glitz, glamour (and even freebies), you see online, there is plenty ofhard work put in, even if it’s just to style that perfect #Flatlay.
