“We had to play well to win thegame and it will be no different upin Bray on Tuesday night andagain at home to Derry City to-morrow week,” said Dunne.

City now have four from a pos-sible six points after two games

and a win on the road early nextweek will set things up nicely forthe visit of the Candy Stripes ineight days time.

City’s U19s are in league actionat Bishopstown today (3.30pm)where a win over UCD will givethem back-to-back titles and partone of a possible double, double.

about retirement in recentweeks and after winningtwo SuperLeague titlesand four National Cupmedals the hunger formore success is still verymuch on the agenda forthe stalwart.“I suppose it has been

one of the hardest sea-sons I have encounteredin recent years, but lookthat’s for another day andthe most important thingfor me now is to try andlead our team to victory inthe next week’s final,”Coughlan said.“To criticise players is

very easy for the hurlerson the ditch but this

present Demons squaddeserve a lot of creditand the reality is we wereunlucky not to win theleague and I do not meanany disrespect to ULEagles who eventuallywon the title.”Coughlan is adamant

that a win would be fittingend to what has been atough season with manyhurdles and obstacles toovercome.“The camaraderie in

the squad is excellentand hopefully we can fin-ish our season with a winover DCU Saints but wewill have to be ready forthe mother of all battles.“When you play DCU if

you fail to match them inthe physicality stakes youare on a loser becausethey consistently play onthe edge.“The only advice I can

give my fellow players isto be ready and don’t beafraid as we have thescoring power to unsettlethem and hopefully thingswill go to plan for us.”● See P52 for more.
