Prior research has found that college students tend to use Facebook primarily to maintain the existing offline relationships
Justification• Lack of studies focusing on FB users from countries outside USA & Canada
• 1.39 billion monthly active FB users• 82.4% of FB daily active users are from outside USA & Canada
I thought it would be necessary and interesting to compare
American Facebook users vs. Facebook users from other
origins to see how Facebook impacts their lives.
Research Questions1. How does Facebook use or lack of use impact mood?
2. Are there differences across demographic variables or groups?
