10 Fire Safety Rules
1.) Don't play with matches and lighters. If you see matches or a lighter where
you can reach them, don't touch them. Go tell a grown up right away.
2.) Ask your parents to install smoke detectors on every floor and in the sleeping
areas of your home. Smoke detectors can save lives. Ask your parents to show
you where each one is located.
3.) Remind your parents to test your smoke detectors every month. Make sure
everyone in your family is familiar with its piercing sound. Teach them that this
sound means danger, and they must escape quickly.
4.) When your parents change the time on your clocks for Daylight Savings, ask
them to change your smoke alarm batteries. Give it fresh batteries and your smoke
alarm will stay awake and watch for fire while you are sleeping.
5.) In case of fire: DON'T HIDE, GO OUTSIDE! Fires are scary, but you
should NEVER hide in closets or under beds when there is a fire.
6.) To escape during a fire; Fall & Crawl. It is easier to breath in a fire if you stay
low while getting out.Use the back of your hand to test if a door is hot before you
open it. If it is hot, try to use another way out.
7.) If your clothes are on fire; Stop, Drop, and Roll until the fire is out. Shout for
help, but don't run. Running makes fire burn faster.
8.) Have an escape plan and practice it with your family. Find two ways out of
every room in case one way is blocked by fire or smoke. Practice escaping by both
routes to be sure windows are not stuck and screens can be taken out quickly.
9.) Choose a meeting place outside, such as a big tree or the end of the driveway,
so you will know that everyone has gotten out safely. NEVERgo back into a
burning building for any reason. If someone is missing, tell the firefighters. They
have the clothing and equipment to safely rescue people.
10.) Know your local emergency number. Put stickers and magnets with
emergency numbers on your refridgerator and every telephone in the house. If
there is a fire at your house, choose one family member to leave your meeting
place and call the fire department from a neighbors phone.

Ecology
We live on the earth. It is very, very big. There is a lot of water on the earth. It is
in rivers, lakes, seas and oceans. There are a lot of forests and fields, hills and
mountains on it. The earth is full of wonders. Different animals live on the earth.
Different plants grow on it. The earth is beautiful. There are large countries and
small countries. There are warm countries and cold countries. There are some
countries where there are four seasons in a year and some countries where there
are only two. When the sun shines it is day. When the sun does not shine it is
night. When it is day in one country it is night in another. You can see the moon
and the stars in the sky at night. People live in different countries. They speak
different languages.
People have lived on our planet for many years. They lived and live on different
continents, in different countries. People depend on their planet, on the sun, on
animals and plants around them. People must take care of Earth. Our ecology
becomes worse and worse with every new day. Many species of animals and birds
are disappearing nowadays. People destruct wildlife, cut down trees to make
furniture. They forget that people can't live without trees and plants, because they
fill air with oxygen. And, of course, great problems are population and animals
destruction. The main reason of pollution is rubbish. Most of our rubbish goes to
big holes in the ground, called 'dumps'. But dumps are very dangerous for our life
'cause they are full of rats, which can carry infections away from dumps. Another
way to get rid of rubbish is to burn it. But the fires make poisons, which go into
the air and pollute it. But pollution isn't the only actual problem. Every day a big
number of animals disappears . People kill animals for different aims: e.g. people
hunt whales for their meat and oil; elephants for their tusks, crocodiles for their
leather and so on. And also animals are used for medical experiments. The most
wide – speared from such animals are monkeys. Modern life is bad for animals,
birds, fish. The air isn't fresh and the water isn't pure. They don't have good meal
and facilities for the life. You can find their names in the Red Book.
The planet Earth is only a tiny part of the universe, but it's the only place where
human beings can live. Today, our planet is in serious danger. Acid rains, global
warming, air and water pollution, overpopulation are the problems that threaten
human life on Earth.
Who is to blame for the disaster? The answer is simple: all of us. Our forests are
disappearing because they are cut down or burnt. If this trend continues, one day
we won't have enough oxygen to breathe.
The seas are in danger. They are filled with poison: industrial and nuclear waste,
chemical fertilisers and pesticides. The Mediterranean is already nearly dead; the
North Sea is following. The Aral Sea is on the brink of extinction. If nothing is
done about it, one day nothing will be able to live in the seas.Every ten minutes
one kind of animal, plant or insect dies out for ever. If nothing is done about it,
one million species that are alive today may soon become extinct.
Air pollution is another serious problem. In Cairo just breathing the air is
dangerous — equivalent to smoking two packs of cigarettes a day. The same holds
true for many Russian cities. Factories emit tons of harmful chemicals. These
emissions have disastrous consequences for our planet. They are the main reason
for the greenhouse effect and acid rains. An even greater threat are nuclear power
stations. We all know how tragic the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster are.
Fortunately, it's not too late to solve these problems. We have the time, the money
and even the technology to make our planet a better, cleaner and safer place. We
can plant trees and create parks for endangered species. We can recycle litter. We
can support green parties and put pressure on those in power. Together we can
save the planet and all of us with it.
Of course, people can't stay indifferent to these problems. There are a lot of special
organizations, which try to save our nature. The most known are: The Royal
Society for the prevention of cruelty to animals (The RSPCA), the World Wildlife
Fund (WWF) and Greenpeace. The RSPCA tries to protect animals from bad use.
It operates big nation campaigns aimed at lost pets, circus animals. The WWF
rescued several species of animals, mammals as well as birds. These organization
also helped to create more than 250 National parks. Greenpeace began its work
20 years ago from saving whales. And now Greenpeace is a world-famous
organization, which saves plants, animals and people. These organization, want
to rescue animals, to help them to survive and to save jungle rain forests, which
are in danger of destruction. And they also help animals 'cause many of them have
already gone as they have nowhere to live. Their homes, the trees, have
disappeared. We must save wild animals. And we must find the right way to save
land, people and animals. We must lake care of nature, because we are part of it.
I would advise everyone to think about this problem. Together we can find a
solution!

The Achievement of Science, Technical Revolution and Our Day-to-day Life
As the years go forward our life becomes faster, a lot of new things appear, our
mind develops and it cannot stop. It's like a strong river which never ends to run
and it is rapidly spreading all over the earth. Many centuries ago people even
couldn't imagine that we will be able to exchange information using telephone,
fax, Internet as long as they couldn't think that there are a lot of planets except our
earth and that people can fly their. If we think how had everything developed,
how many new things had appeared and how had the minds of people become so
wide we even won't be able to understand it because nowadays we cannot imagine
our life without such inventions like lamps, ovens, central heating and others.
During the centuries people have been invented the things to make our life easier.
A great invention such as transport plays one of the most important roles in our
life. We live in flats, can appear in different point of earth within a day, can say
hello to people who live in another point of the world. All those things are a
product of technical progress and it doesn't stop to grow and develop. Nowadays
we live surrounded by machines and other inventions. And with new inventions
we become happier because nearly everything is making by machine not by
ourselves. And from day to day appear more and more new things. And we don't
think about how the first inventions were created. The only thing we know that
we never will return to the life which people lived a lot of centuries ago because
there is no way back. Everything is handy. We use at home vacuum cleaners to
clean the flat, ovens to cook, lifts to walk down in our houses, lamps to make our
flats light…. There are a lot of such things like this, and we even don't think about
when and where and who invented it. And it's so simple to us. And it's so dear to
us that we cannot even live without it. Our century is a century of developing
informational connection. Faxes, TV, Internet, and Telephone became the most
popular way of getting and sending information. One of the greatest inventions of
the century, in my opinion is computer. It's the coup in the technology. When
Charles Babbage (1792-1871), a professor of mathematics at Cambridge
University invented the first calculating machine in 1812 he could hardly have
imagined the situation we find ourselves today. Computer becomes like a brain of
human but the only thing it cannot do is to feel. The other things are easy to it. As
everything computers also develop. The possibilities of it are so wide. It can do
more than 500000 sums in a fraction of a second. Programming became one of
the most useful and popular profession. Nowadays computers can pay wages,
reserve seats on planes, control sputniks, compose music. Also everybody knows
the words Cd Rom, a means of storing information on a disk to be read by a
computer, e-mail, which becomes one of the ways to exchange information, the
Internet - a network that is a way to get information, to communicate with people,
to find everything you need. More and more people become Internet users because
we can do so many things their and also cannot say all of them. You can chat
there, find job, pay bills, get music, buy something, find referats, and know the
latest news exchange information with other people in each point of earth by e-
mail and a lot of other functions. As for me it became a usual thing to be connected
to Internet. It attracts me by a wide variety of different kinds of information which
is necessary to people. Of coarse I use a lot of other things of technology at home.
And I think that the main point of such inventions as vacuum cleaners, which we
use at home, radio, TV set, mixers, refrigerators, one of the most important thing
in every flat all these were invented only after the invention of electricity. So I
find the question about technical progress very wide and it's impossible to say
about all inventions. And in conclusion I want to say that the technical progress
won't stop and the machines will substitute everything except one the human.

The meaning of a "team sport" has been disputed in recent years. Some types of
sports have different objectives or rules than "traditional" team sports. These types
of team sports do not involve teammates facilitating the movement of a ball or

example, swimming, rowing, sailing, dragon boat racing, and track and
field among others can also be considered team sports.[2] In other types of team

the highest possible finishing position. This process is known as team orders and
although previously accepted was banned in Formula One[3] between 2002 and
2010. After a controversy involving team orders at the 2010 German Grand
Prix however, the regulation was removed as of the 2011 season.[4]

influencing not just athletes, but also fans, local and national economies. All over
the world, the impact of team sport can be seen as professional athletes live out
their dreams while serving as role models, youth athletes develop life skills and
follow in the footsteps of their role models, fans bond over the love of their teams
while supporting their economies with their support.
