Dear Christian IViends,Greetings- in Christ from Puerto Rico, hope that you are welland that the Lord is blessing your l ives r ichly have certa inly beenblessed the past few weeks and we are excited to t e l l you about ourbless ingsOur second daughter was born just two weeks ago, on April km Hername i s La^ie Lynn and she weighed 7-lbs .and ozs and was 2 incheslong. She is a real bundle of joy and e feel very blessed to have her.Suzanne is doing just fine ^d we were very fortunate to have hermother, Thelma Swango, here when Laurie was born. She has been a big heland of course has enjoyed getting to see her second grandchild.II wasvery plgased to be able to be with Suzanne during her labor and duringthe del ivery . The hospi ta ls here are as nice as the ones in the UnitedStates and the care is excellent. Thank you a ll for your prayers forSuzanne^ and the baby. Please continue to pray for us as the hard partis raising children the way the Lord expects us to . Emily has done verywell ad ju stin g to her new s i s te r and is very protective of her. We llhave some pictures of them in the next newsletter. Lord willing.

She has been studyinfa i thful ly for several months and was able to see the need for Chris tto be the Lord of her l i fe The church in Mayaguez where we are helpinghas had seven other immersions the la s t two months and they are thri l ledabout that. had a revival there before Easter^ with Bob Gurwell fromthe church at Caparra doing the preaching and it* was a real time ofgrowth for the body.We were very pleased to find out tha t one of our old f r iends fromLevittown, Mary Seda and her sons Jason and Bryan, had moved to SanGerman. They are all believers and are eager to help in getting thechurch started here. are looking now for a place to have our servicesand we ask you a ll to be praying for tha t I was sure that I had founda place a few weeks ago. One of the neighborhoods where I have Biblelessons has a new community center that is hardly used. The center iss t i l l under government control and one of the rules i s not to allowany religiousrsert^ices. are sure that the Lord will provide whenthe time is. r ight . are hoping to begin our services within the nexttwo months. Please be praying for tha thave mentioned several times the camp property that the churchesin Puerto. Rico have purchased. were able to get a great deal of workdone a few months ago when we hired a big bulldozer to come in andlevel the parts that needed work. The bulldozer had a ripper on i tthat really broke up the spots that were rocky and the camp is now readyto build on. All we need is the money to build. Want to try andbuild an ^1 purpose building f irst that can house the kitchen andbathrooms in one part and some sleeping accommadbtions in anotherp a r t, received a le t ter recently from Lonny and Vanessa Smith. TheyQve in Costa Rica studying Spanish before they come here to helpin the work here. They are enjoying their time of study and are adjustinwell to living in a foreign country. It. takes a lot of faith*to pickup your family and move somewhere where they everything is strange. Prayfor them as they learn Spanish which is so very important.

P le as e be p ray i n g fo r themin th i s t ime of t r i a l tha t t h ey might s e e k th e L o r d s wi l l fo r t he i rlives.Puerto Rico, as in th e U.S. i s being h it hard by th e r e c e n trecess ion. Unemployment has always been h i g h h ere and i s o f f ic ia l ly2^^ but many say i t i s higher than that. Pa t t y i s a high school senior and has expressedsome i n te re st i n teach in g some o f th e younger c h i l d r e n in church.

were sorry to see two of our families move away in September.Marta Lugo who was baptized l a s t April moved to the town of Bayamonnear Sa n Juan. She has gotten in c on ta ct w it h the church in CaparraTerrace and has been attending services there with her sons. Mary Sedaand h er two sons moved to Fl o r i d a . She was unable to find a job herein San German but has found a good job in a birlingua l school nearMiami. Be praying for both those families please.As you c an im ag in e s t a r t i n g a new church t a k e s a l o t o f workand a l o t o f expense. We a re going to be using our house f o r th e f i r s tfew months to save the cost of renting a building r ig h t a t firs t . .Wehope and plan to double o ur a tte nd an ce within s ix months to r i f t y ^p eo ple . A fter t h a t our house p ro ba bl y w o n t hold an y more and we w i l lbegin to look for a building to rent or buy Lord willing. The i n i t i a lexpenses o f chai r s t a b l e s lesson material e t c . are expenses t h a twe can handle r i g h t now. We w i l l need extra f i n a n c i a l help in the f u t u r eb u t we w i l l l e t you know a b o u t t h a t as th e n e e d s a r i s e . We a re s u r et h at the Lord w i l l bl ess the church here and we really want yo u to

be p r a y i n g w i t h us and f o r u s .Wie church leaders on the island had a camp meeting l a s t Mondayand we hope to begin some construction on our camp property withinthe next s ix months. The f i r s t building wi l l be some type o f m ultipurpose b u i l d i n g . We r e a l l y need some camp f a c i l i t i e s and it lo o k sl i k e our dreams w i l l soon become a r e a l i t y .
