Wristbands are required for the many activities offered at the South Lake Beach Club on the 4th (volley- ball tournament, carnival, bingo and boat races), but are not required for the Ralph J. Redington 5K/10K and Kids Run, and Wheels on Parade. Wristbands are available for purchase through the Association Office; please see page 13 for details. Ralph J. Redington 5K/10K Run and Kids Run 5K/10K: 7:15 a.m. Kids Run: Approx. 8:15 a.m. C alling all runners! Compete with your neighbors and friends in the annual 4th of July race. Once again, this year’s courses will start by the North Lake Gazebo on Barranca Parkway. The course is officially certified by TAC. Check-in time for the 5K and 10K runs is 6:30 a.m. The race will begin at 7:15 a.m. The Kids Run will begin at approximately 8:15 a.m. The entry fee for pre-registered Woodbridge residents participating in the 5K/10K is $20.00 per person, which includes an official race T-shirt, or $10.00 without the shirt. The entry fee for pre-registered non- residents is $25.00 per person, which includes a T-shirt, or $15.00 without the shirt. The entry fee for all participants regis- tering on the day of the race is $30.00 per person, which includes a T-shirt, or $20.00 without the shirt. The entry fee for the Kid’s Run is $10.00 per child, which includes a T- shirt, or $2.00 per child without the shirt. Entry forms can be picked up and dropped off at the Association Office through Wednesday, June 30th at 5:00 p.m. Entries after June 30th must be completed at the race site on the day of the race. Awards will be presented to first place fin- ishers only in each age division for both men and women, and to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall finishers in the Kids 1-mile run for boys and girls. The Association wishes to thank Woodbridge High School Track Coach George Varvas and his team for all their help. Wheels on Parade 10:00 a.m. O nce again, we will be holding the annu- al parade on Barranca Parkway between Lake and Creek Road. The parade will start and end on Barranca and Lake Road. The parade will go down Barranca and will make the turnaround at Creek and Barranca and march back down on the lake side of Barranca, allowing the spectators a better chance to see all of the creative floats. Non-motorized floats have been a big part of the Parade and are welcome to par- ticipate in the event. All floats are welcome. Bring your family and friends and gather your entire block together to create floats with a 4th of July theme. There are no size restrictions on the floats, but they must be able to pass under the bridge on Barranca Parkway. Please note: This year the Irvine Police Department has requested that no motor- ized vehicles be used during the parade. Entries must be at the Parade assembly area (located at Barranca and Lake Road on the south side of the street) between 9:15 and 9:30 a.m. July 2010 Reflections • Page 11

Carnival12:00 to 3:45 p.m.
Come on out to the South Lake Beach
Club parking lot to enjoy an old-fash-
ioned carnival with a Moon Bounce, an
obstacle course, a giant slide, and lots of
fun and exciting carnival games.
Tickets are required for all rides and
games. Tickets cost 25¢ each, or five for
$1.00.
