Here we are, in the season. Per-

fect timing to express how grate-

ful and thankful I am for "OPPORTUNITY'

Success is where preparation and opportunity meet.

Preparation is the result of hard work, dedication, sacrifice,

organization, and the urn to comprehend what it takes to

better yourself.

Opportunity is the result of hard work, networking, humility,

rejection, rerouting, and restratigizing.

I am the kind of person who likes to be prepared. Granted

you can't be prepared for everything, but I like to have most of

my activities scheduled in advance, as well as a pre-planned

get-up of just about anything else I am getting involved with.

Opportunity on the other hand is the second part of my plan in

which I am still developing.

In a generation of endless resources, I wish you all a satisfy-

ing journey to success! Phantom

Whats Your Name? J. Horne

Birth Date February 20 1990

Rep Your City Mo.City, Houston TX

Label?? Forever N' Ever (FnE)

Introduce Yourself I'm J. Horne, I'm

24 years old, from Houston Tx, currently

living in Oklahoma City, OK. I'm just a

young man from a big city, with big city

dreams and a large appetite for Hip-Hop,

ready to bite off the heads of anyone who

wants it.

What Sets You Apart from Other Artists? My deliv-

ery, my steez(style), my attitude, the way I see music, my

everything is what sets me apart. I'm a different type of artist.

Coming from where I come from, dealing with the struggles

and adversities that I've dealt with in life drives me to make

the best quality music I can possibly make. I have no limits.

When Did You First Start Your Music Career? Why? I

didn't start getting serious with music until the end of 2011.. I

was always good at rapping and freestyling. I loved to write.

But One night at the club, after getting jumped and beat by a

group of 15 guys, i laid in an emergency room hospital bed

for 2 hrs. Waking in and out of consciousness, I decided I had

to make some life changes. I had to put all of my pain, inside

my verses. I first remixed The Games track, "Start From

Scratch", and Fans and friends would listen and tell me how

they felt my pain vividly. It made me work harder. And I have-

n't looked back since.

Who Are Your Favorite Artists? Trick question ha-

ha... I don't have any favorites. The game changes way too

much. I more so have respect for certain artists. Jay-Z,

Kanye, Kendrick, J. Cole, Drake. I feel underground inde-

pendent artists more. Tech N9ne, Hopsin, Dizzy Wright. We

make real music without limits. We have nothing to lose.

Which Artist has the Most Influence On You? Why?

Tupac Shakur. I've watched him since I was a kid in

the 90's. My mom aunts and uncles all loved him. Watching

him in videos, on stage, and in interviews. He said whatever

he wanted, when he wanted. If something wasn't right he

spoke about it. There isn't very many artists who will stand up

for the normal people of the world who work everyday jobs.

PAC stood for justice even through everything he went

through. That's motivational and inspirational.

If You Could Collab with Any Artist In the World Who

Would It Be and Why? Honestly, it doesn't even matter. I'm

an artist. I will collab with anybody who can make quality

good music. That's what makes it all fun.

Are There Any Independent or Underground Artists You

Want to Collab With? Well that actually does matter. Haha

Anybody in Funk Volume! Hopsin, Dizzy Wright, Swizzz, Jar-

ren Benton. Those cats are super dope with doper lyrics. I

think we could make some seriously good music.

Upcoming Releases? Shows? Tours? I already released

my first mixtape, "Homesick" earlier this year in March. This

winter I'm collabing with my fellow FnE brother, Apeks to re-

lease an EP called, "Segregation". We've released a video

from the EP, called "The Devil Is A Lie" remix which has been

making waves. I've done multiple shows around OKC and still

are. The OKC Fall Jam is in effect which the Breast Cancer

Awareness is now apart of. This November, I'm performing in

Sito Bckwrdz birthday bash which should be really dope since

O has longevity in the game. We may begin a tour off the

"Segregation EP" once we have an official release date. Stay

tuned!!

Tell Us a Secret.... What is something your fans may not

know about you? Basketball was my first love, my first

dream. I played in high school and some college before I tore

my ACL and gave up on it. I can still give boys "the bizness"

though!

Where Can We Find You Online? My website

same on each one. Facebook search J. Horne. YouTube

Shout Outs?? Shoutout to all of Forever N Ever; Apeks,

CL was born in Junction City, Kansas on July 20, 1985. CL moved around a lot as a child living in

different states such as Texas, Nebraska, Arizona, but after living in Oklahoma CL has always considered

OKC his home. CL started doing music at the age of eight and CL knew then that he had found his calling.

CL started playing drums at the age of eleven and soon after that he picked up the keyboard and has nev-

er looked back. After discovering that he had a natural talent of creativity with music, his cousin and him-

self decided to form a group called Rugged Individualz. That marked the beginning of C.L. McCoy, the

producer.

Now, at the age of 29, CL has been certified as an Audio Engineer. Some of his credentials are as

follows; having opened up for such acts as 50 cent, Busta Rhymes, Clipse, Snoop Dogg, Juicy J. and

Currensy just to name a few. CL has had numerous encounters with these big name artists; whether it

was work related or special events. DJ Skee, Waka Flocka, Big Krit, LL Cool J. Bone Thugs N harmony,

Swizz Beatz, Pharrell, Rick Ross, Wale', Baby Bash, Method Man, Don Cannon, Corey Gunz, 9th Wonder,

Q-Tip, and more. CL has credit for producing for artist such as Wale, Chevy Woods, Bone Thugs N Harmo-

ny, Caine, Meant2b, Privaledge, Maejor Ali, Bun B., Baby Bash and quite a few local and upcoming artists.

Shut It Down or STFU $1000 Showcase

– Oklahoma City

The 'Shut It Down or STFU' competition is an event

that will forever remain imprinted on my heart. Reason 1) It

was my first competition along my first time on stage as an

announced artist. But more importantly, Reason 2) threw

my involvement of the competition is how I met Amanda

Scott, my publisher. I didn't know her know her, she didn't

know me but we sparked each other. At that moment, it

dawned on me the importance of networking, not just in

music but in the overall divine line of life.

I realized I wanted to know who, what, when, where and why about the relevance of Oklahoma's urban

and active talents. I've always known and felt that Oklahoma had talent, but as Executive Editor of WLD I now

have a reason to get out and get active with all that the state has to offer.

We don't get paid to produce the magazine and we don't get paid to attend the events. However, the ex-

periences we encounter are priceless. The 'Shut It Down' competition didn't have a strong head count, and

I would rather not give a review of the facility, but the club was loaded with over 20 active and talented Okla-

homa artists and public figures There were crazy cool cash and prizes awarded, but getting my first oppor-

tunity to mingle with so much talent was phenomenal. We are all at different levels in our careers and the ex-

perience was very humbling for me. There were artists from several surrounding states that came out just to

shut it down with us! We had people from Texas, Missouri, and Louisiana. We even had a competition judge

come out from the Virgin Islands! The nights opening act was OKChristian. He got it in with a specialty song fit

for the occasion. The song he performed was in ordinance with the name of the competition 'STFU' and was

the perfect opening act. As each artist took turns taking over the mic, we were shown an array of talent. As

the showcase didn't finish up until almost 2 A.M, it was proof that Oklahoma was loaded.

1st place was announced as a split winning between Lady Groove and Joe Money. Lady Groove was also

announced artist with the biggest fan base in the building, yet this was not a surprise to most as this wining La-

dy knows how to bring 'em out!

I got the chance to mingle, speak, and take pics with a lot of Oklahoma and surrounding state STARS, and

the experience exposed my mind to a new light.

Thank You to all of the artist who participated and made the night one to remember!

Play Boi Fresh - FML I was immediately attracted to the name of the tape. I believe that we all at one point or anoth-

er feel like 'FML', so the title was relatable. The CD kicks on with a great introductory beat and

the intro song itself is something anyone should be able to vibe to. His voice was also very at-

tractive. As the CD played, I was already familiar with a few of the songs from his performance

back in September at Tumbleweeds. He is affiliated with Go Getta Money Gang. Familiarity is

many times a comfortable thing. I could feel a little bit of his Texas swagg, as him and his group

are our of Amarillo, & I LOVED it! His CD is not just something for the collection, but something

for the CD player in the car. After hearing this CD, I would be interested in buying his next CD as

well as seeing him in concert next time he was in the O. Great quality. 9 out of 10 STARS.

Zie - E.A.T

After spending a day with Zie, as I participated in his 'Rebuild OK' community project, I was

eager to hear his CD. He was a really cool guy, and I had enjoyed my day infinitely. As his CD

played, I noticed Zie has a very strong voice, a voice that is almost hypnotizing. However, I was-

n't impressed with his intro. Song #2 was exciting, & was my favorite on the CD! It was a jam

that I could imagine hearing at the club. I loved the level of effects and precision used through

out his entire CD. #3, #4, #6, #7 & #12 were also some great tracks. I was expecting to here a

little more encouraging music from him, after meeting him. His music was good, I just hoped for

a little more encouraging structure from this Leader. But overall excellent sound. 7 out of 10

STARS

Blok Nation – Demo This group puts in work. I have a duplication of this CD in my collection. That means that they

are out there physically handling their CDs. One copy I got off the streets, and the second copy I

received from Castro out at Tumbleweeds back in September. Song #2 is my favorite. It has

great song structure, great beat, and fun lyrics. The CD is a demo, with 3 songs on it. Quality

was great. I give STARS based off 1) Level of content, 2) Amount of suitable content 3) Instru-

mental sound 4) Lyric relativity & 5) Lyric emphasis. Because this was a demo, with little amount

of content, it receives 4 out of 10 STARS. #2 on the demo tho, was a GREAT song.

WHAT TO INCLUDE IN YOUR ARTIST BIO

The more I work with artists, the more I realize there is A LOT of resources that are out there that most of them

know nothing about…. So, we have decided that every month, we will publish different resources that artists

can use to boost their careers. So each month look out for blogs, A&R Lists, Music festivals, and much

#WLDMagazine Staff

1) Who are you? Name, birthdate, home town. And a little background story….. Briefly describe your younger

life. Pay special attention to factors that may have influenced your decision to become a hip hop artist as well as

experiences that you commonly raps or sing about. For example, if you attended an arts high school or came

from a musical family, these are important details to mention. If you commonly rap or sing about your home

life, you should include the relevant back story.

2) How did you get to be who you are? When did you know you wanted to do music? What influenced you at a

young age? What influences you now? Describe your musical influences. For example, if you grew up listening to

a particular musical group, this is a detail that will be interesting to your audience. If you collaborates with an-

other artist, has released music in response to another artist's music, or has a close relationship with another

artist, include these details in the biography.

3) What have you accomplished? List your most important professional accomplishments. This can include label

contracts, awards and sales information. List these in chronological order

3) What are you doing now? Albums? Collabs? New Music? Shows? Discuss any shifts in your musical direction

and include the reasons for this shift. For example, perhaps you originally started writing politically motivated

hip hop lyrics, but your latest album is focused on romance or relationships. Your readers may be interested in

finding out which factors in your life prompted this shift.

4) What is your future? Future releases? Future Goals? You can include a quote about the direction you hope to

take your music. Do you have a concept in mind for a future album? Has a date already been set for a release of

an album?

These instructions are written in the order you bio would be written. I hope it helps!
