Butterfly board Butterflies have delicate and often complex lifecycles; find out which plants the butterflies in our park need to survive. Woodland board Learn about the layers and interactions that make woodlands such diverse places. Dead wood board Bits of dead wood on the floor haven’t just been forgotten about … being too tidy can reduce this important habitat. Night-time board Once the visitors are gone, the park isn’t as quiet as you might think. These are a few of the species using the park at night. Pond Life Water is the source of life, see what life lives in the mysterious underwater world in Holywells Park. Orchard board There’s much more to a traditionally managed orchard than simply fruit. This board shows the other important benefits they can have. Meadow Long grass and flowers offer shelter and food for many species. This board shows the wacky mix of creatures using our meadow. introductionHolywells Park is 67 acres (28 ha.) insize with a range of habitats from ponds,woodland and meadows. The park is adesignated County Wildlife Site and aRegionally Important Geo-diversity site(RIGS) by UKRIGS. The nature trailtravels through many of these differenthabitats and their respective wildlife.

Use the map on this leaflet to help younavigate around the trail. At each stationthere will be an information boardoverlooking the habitat, with informationabout the wildlife that lives there. Aninteractive phone app will allow you totest yourself on the key conceptsregarding the habitat and the wildlifepresent. See back of leaflet aboutdownloading app.
