Over 180 2 nd grade students from Belle Terre Elementary enjoyed a day of fun and learning at the park. The program offered hands-on learning in geology, park flora and fauna, and two special guests featured live animals. The Wildlife Tree, Inc. brought reptiles, mammals, while Whitney Lab brought sea life for an experience students enjoyed. Operations Division received 110 Track IT’s this past week.
Operations Division continues to roll out virtual machines to our cloud network; this project goes hand in hand with rolling out the new IPads.
Operations Division performed the following upgrades: web filtering system and email spam blocking system.
Operations Division continued prepping inventory for the Employee Purchase Program; this program is well received by employees who enter a lottery to be able to purchase older technical equipment.
Operations Division research continues as we seek vendors for cloud and in-house VoIP/SIP systems to replace aging legacy PBX (phone switch).
Applications Division created query of all Utility customers with relevant information to provide data for First Alert program
Applications Division staff continued configuring and testing the OnBase Agenda Management solution.
Applications Division staff continued the process of converting HR forms into electronic forms with workflows.
Applications Division began working on the website portion of the upcoming photo contest.
GIS Division rewrote 3 web mapping applications to the Adobe Flex platform and has been performing testing on them as well.
GIS Division, with the assistance of our Systems Administrator, performed a final data transfer this week to the new GIS server.
GIS Division will continue testing the new server and platform. Our next task will be to upgrade all ArcGIS Desktop Workstations to ArcGIS 10.1.
FINANCE
Applications Division changed a Lien for Vacant Lots report, to meet new search criteria and to remove incorrect entries based on new parameters.
PUBLIC WORKS
Application Division compressed and re-indexed Access DB for Fuel Master Program to allow integration of reports and verification of fuel data.
M-3 Water Control Structure Rehabilitation Project for 2014 (ITB-SW-14-01) - Contract award to S.E. Cline Construction, Inc., in the amount of $439,325. Upstream and downstream cofferdam has been installed, silt fence has been installed, water from recent rain is still being bled off downstream. Demolition work should begin next week.

Stormwater Model Construction Improvements for Sections 35 and Section 37 Public Works continues construction on pipe & ditch improvements. Burnside Drive completed on 2-6-14. Currently working on Burnaby Lane.
Stormwater Model Improvements Land Acquisition - A proposal for the Section 37 land acquisition offer letter went out on 1-14-14, waiting on response from property owner. No change.
Seminole Woods Multi Use Path Public Works continues on Phase 1 construction – FPL pole relocations has been delayed. Swale work has started on the south end of the project and sod is completed, concrete is approaching Utah Place. Phase 2 design (90%) will be ready for permitting soon.
Palm Harbor @ College Waterway Bridge #62 Rehab Construction – Commercial Industrial Corporation is the contractor. Contract amount is $1,016,373.70. The west sheet piles have been jetted and have been driven. The east sheet piles are being installed.
Colechester @ College Waterway Bridge #63 Rehab Design - Stone Engineering Group submitted the design proposal. Staff is presenting a Work Order to Council on 2-18-14.
Long Creek Nature Preserve Construction Phase 1 – 5% Complete
Work has been temporarily suspended due to rain and the saturated conditions.
