It was great to attend the Young Writer Awards at the Swan Hill Library on Wednesday night. It was wonderful to have seven of our students short-listed as finalists. We are extremely proud to have such a large representation on the night, as the writing curriculum has been an emphasis for the last couple of years. Well done to all involved. Tonight I am attending the Victorian Excellence in Education Awards in Melbourne, as we are finalists in the Outstanding School Advancement Team award for work in the Swan Hill PLC program. I would like to congratulate Mrs Sydes for all her work as an Instructional Leader in the PLC and all the exciting work that is coming out of our local schools. It is exciting that five local schools can be recognised for leading the way at a state level. We will keep you updated on Facebook tonight. Grandparents Day As part of our Funky Feet Celebrations we will be having our Grandparents / Special people morning on Friday 2 nd of November. Principal’s Report

This term is already flying and has been a busy time

for both students and teachers.

It was great to attend the Young Writer Awards at

the Swan Hill Library on Wednesday night. It was

wonderful to have seven of our students short-listed

as finalists. We are extremely proud to have such a

large representation on the night, as the writing

curriculum has been an emphasis for the last couple

of years. Well done to all involved.

Tonight I am attending the Victorian Excellence in

Education Awards in Melbourne, as we are finalists

award for work in the Swan Hill PLC program. I

Newsletters are going Digital Only In the next few weeks our School’s newsletter will be sent via email only, there will be no hard copies

handed out unless requested in writing. We are finding that our newsletters are not getting

home effectively, so newsletters will only be emailed, and can be found on our Facebook and Web page.

We ask that everyone fill in the attached formed with your preferred email address.

Grandparents/ Special Friends, Walk to School & Funky Feet We are holding our Grandparents/ Special Friends morning tea on Friday 2nd November

starting at 9am. This will enable grandparents/ special friends to watch our Funky Feet

Parade. Could families please supply a plate of morning tea to share? This will be at 10am. We

are also holding our Funky Feet Day and the end of Walk to School Month on this day.

Last year many of our students came with some very wacky and funky feet and we cannot

wait to see what they come up with this year.

As our last walk for Walk to School Month all students will be doing a lap of the oval and

visitors are more than welcome to join in.

Hope to see you next Friday.

Scholastic Book Fair

Our next Book Fair will be held at school from Monday 29th October to Friday 2nd November. The

Book Fair will be open from 8:30am until 4:00pm. If we sell over $1000 worth, we receive 30% to

buy books for school. Our previous Book Fair earlier this year was amazing and we got some new

books for our Library and some new equipment as well. This is a great opportunity to start Christmas

shopping. This will be held in the Learning Centre.

As the weather is warming up, we are again offering FRUIT Zooper Doopers for students to purchase at

lunchtime.

These are 50 cents each.

Students bring their money in the mornings and get it put on the board.

Next Thursday 1st November our Hands On Learning students are offering a lunch order of Pies

or Sausage Rolls.

PARENTS CLUB NEWS

Only 8 weeks to go and the year is finished. Thank you to all those that have volunteered their time

throughout the year. We still have Breakfast Club, Richardson’s Dance concert and the School Christmas

Tree night to go.

Richardson Dance Concert

On the 17th November our Parents Club run the canteen for Richardson’s Dance concert as one of our

major fundraisers for the year.

This year we are only doing one night to reduce the amount of volunteers required.

If you are able to spare an hour to help please let us know.

**Please note that many of our regular volunteers have children performing in the concert, and we

require extra volunteers to help with the following rosters.
