CIDC – Activities: Overseas Internship programme for Young Graduate / Diploma Engineers in

Malaysian/Singaporean/Chinese Companies:

1. The Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC) jointly with Asian Concrete Academy (ACA), Bangkok (Thailand) is conducting an internship programme for young Graduate / Diploma engineers with Malaysian / Singaporean/Chinese Construction Companies.

2. Programme is structured to cultivate industrial proficiencies in the student and improve their employability in domestic as well as in international markets.

3. Program duration is 60 days where first 5 and last 5 days shall be utilized for pre-departure orientation, and conduct of jury respectively. 50 days’ duration of internship shall be spent at overseas projects. This shall include travel days also.

4. The pre and post internship training and project report submission to a grand jury of 5 days each shall be at CIDC corporate office and training center at Faridabad.

5. For the internship abroad, the student must have valid passport and also is expected to abide by the rules and regulations of the site of posting and strictly adhere and follow instructions of the designated site officer. The student must also arrange for personal insurance for the duration of the internship.

6. The fees for the programme is US$ 1000/-(for 2-months training) and cost of travelling, boarding & lodging during the internship in abroad shall be extra.

7. Candidates must have passed /appeared 7th semester examination if B.Tech., or passed diploma examination, in Civil, Electrical & Mechanical Engineering Streams from a recognised institution.

8. Currently the training of 12 students of one batch is scheduled to start from 15th January 2017.Allotment of seats shall be on "first come first served" basis.

CIDC – Activities: Ongoing Projects/Activities for News letter: September 2016

1. CIDC jointly with INDSTT has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with Asian Concrete Academy

(ACA), Bangkok (Thailand) for conducting educational program for practicing engineers & engineering

students. MoU signing photos is attached.

2. CIDC jointly with Asian Concrete Academy (ACA), Bangkok (Thailand) shall be conducting an Overseas Internship Programme in January 2017 for young Graduate / Diploma engineers with Malaysian / Singaporean/Chinese Construction Companies. Events:

1. September was a busy month with CIDC providing its support to three events which focused on Emerging technologies, products and providing a forum for discussion on current state of Industry and way forward.

2. Smart Mobility – TrafficInfraTech & ParkingInfraTech Expo – Held at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai from 1st – 3rd September 2016.

3. 4th Annual Edition of the Economic Times Infra Focus Summit – Held at Taj Palace, New Delhi on 27th September 2016.

4. The Big 5 Construct India 2016 – held at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai from 28th – 30th September 2016.

On behalf of CIDC, Mr. Ashutosh Bhardwaj, Director (Corporate Affairs) made presentations on “National database for Vendors and Suppliers” in TrafficInfraTech Expo & Parking InfraTech Expo.

Two workshops were also conducted at The Big 5 Construct India 2016, which were attended by a cross section of stakeholders from the Construction Industry. The Topics were:

“Facilitating seamless procurement of goods and services for timely execution of construction projects”

“Holistic Human Resource Development – Investing in Certification, Skill Development and Training of Construction Workers”

Engineers India Limited: Training for 750 candidates has been successfully completed under the project “Employment Oriented Training and Skill Development Programme for SC/ST/OBC/Women & EWS of Society”. In order to compensate for any dropouts or midway absentees to the program, 25 people have been trained over and above the required 750 at no additional cost to the sponsoring organization.

CIDC – Activities: The last leg of the training was held at Gorakhpur, Dhaulana, Kanhmau, Amethi, Ghaziabad & Faridabad, (Uttar Pradesh), Ranchi & Daltonganj, (Jharkhand), Chapaguri (Assam) & Bheemli (South) centers. With 290 placements till date, many candidates have completed training and moved on for jobs with reputed construction companies. Students have also opted for self-employment and some have joined higher education courses. CIDC is also working closely with project organizations to include the compulsory clause on deployment of Tested & Certified construction workers on their sites. While CPWD, MES, many state PWDs, have already incorporated such a clause, there is growing awareness amongst private entities to adopt this best practice. On 16th September 2016, Certificate distribution Ceremony was organised at CIDC Vishwakarma Pratham, Faridabad to give away certificates to the last batch of trainees under the program “Employment Oriented Training and Skill Development Programme for SC/ST/OBC/Women & EWS of Society”. Senior officials from Engineers India Limited (EIL) and Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC) were present. EIL officials applauded the efforts of CIDC in imparting training to the under privilege candidates and thanked for our initiatives.

CIDC – Activities: Organized “Campus placement meet” at ‘Vishwakarma Pratham’:

1. Visit of EIL Team Mr. R. P. Mehrota, CGM (HR), Mr. Abhijit Roy, AGM (CSR) & Ms. Shikha, Officer (CSR) on 16th September 2016 at CIDC, VKP Faridabad for distribution of Trade certificate to the trainees sponsored by EIL.

2. Organized “Campus placement meet” at ‘Vishwakarma Pratham’ CIDC Corporate Training Centre, Faridabad, on 21st September, 2016 by M/s I. P. Infra Power Pvt. Ltd.

3. Organized Dental Camp from “Sudha Rustagi Collage for Dental Sciences & Research” at Vishwakarma Pratham’ CIDC Corporate Training Centre, Faridabad, on 24th September 2016.

4. Organized “Campus Placement Meet” at ‘Vishwakarma Pratham’ CIDC Corporate Training Centre, Faridabad, on 26th September, 2016 by M/s Cosmo Infra solutions.

Engineer’s Day (15 September, 2016):

National Engineer’s day was celebrated in CIDC, Gorakhpur to commemorate the birthday of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya (1860-1962) who made an unprecedented contribution in the engineering field for the welfare of the society. The thought provoking program began with welcome address by Mr. Kamlesh Kumar, trainee who highlighted the need of engineers in the society. It was followed by various presentations and talks given by the trainees. On this occasion, Shri P K Mishra, Additional Director, shared the life and achievements of Visvesaraya and motivated trainees to work with honesty and dedication.

CIDC – Activities: Celebration of Teacher Day:

VKP Faridabad:

Celebration of Teacher day at CIDC, VKP Corporate Center Faridabad, preside over by Dr. Shuchita Kumar, Director (Projects) along with Mrs. Lori Keshav GM (International operations) and Prof.(Er) B. R. Chauhan Sr. Advisor, where in all Trainers, Trainees and officials remained present on 5th Sep 2016.

6. Teacher’s Day commemorates the birthday of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakhrishnan, a philosopher and a teacher per excellence. Dr Radhakhrishnan belied that “teachers play a major role in making their students responsible citizens of tomorrow and good human beings. It is impossible to imagine our lives without teachers.” They are the cornerstone of our future. We can never thank teachers enough for their immense contribution in a student’s life.

In respect of that, Teacher’s Day on 5th Sep, 2016 was celebrated with full zeal and enthusiasm at CIDC Gorakhpur center. The day started with giving a tribute to Dr. Saravpalli Radhakrishnan. The day had an emotional and recreational touch. The students did all the preparations with complete energy and excitement. Center organized various speeches, quizzes and puzzles for trainees. Er P K Mishra, Additional Director of CIDC extended their blessings to all trainees for their success in future.

CIDC – Activities: Kanhmou (Sidhauli) Centre:

Gorakhpur Centre:

Vishwakarma is known as the divine engineer and main architect of the universe. CIDC, Gorakhpur center organized a very special puja on 17th Sep, 2016 in the campus of training centre. Pt. Dina Nath Pandey performed the all rituals of Puja. The training staff and trainees participated in the puja in very auspicious environment.

CIDC – Activities: Vishwakarm Pooja and God Ganesh Visharjan at VKT Dhaulana Training Centre:

VKD Ramshahpur Training Centre:

Swachcha Bharat Abhiyan on 02nd Oct, 2016 at Dhaulana Training Centre:

1. Under CIDC – East Coast Railway program training of 30 No’s of candidates in the trade of Plumber will be commenced from 31st October, 2016 at Bhubaneshwar, Odisha.

2. Under CIDC - Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFCL) training program skill development training program 2000 No’s of candidates to be trained in different states. 711 No’s of candidates are undergoing training at different CIDC training centers at Sidhauli, Dhaulana, Gorakhpur, Ramshapur, Ranchi, Daltonganj, Faridabad, Bheemili, Khurda and Assam.

3. CIVTC has signed an MoU with Everest Foundation for skill enhancement and training of 200 No’s of youths in the trade of Fabrication and Roof Sheet Laying. Under this training program 50 No’s of candidates have been successfully trained at Dhaulana (Hapur) & Navsari (Gujarat) in the trade of Fabrication & Roof sheet Laying.

4. Under CIDC – Tamilnadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC) training program 3000 No’s of candidates to

be trained across the state of Tamilnadu. So far we have successfully trained 1037 No’s of candidates and 443 No’s of candidates are undergoing training under this training program. The training of 80 No’s of candidates is scheduled to commence from 5th October, 2016.

CIDC – Activities: Homage to Martyrs of Uri Attack:

To pay homage to martyrs of terror strike on the Army's Administrative Unit in Uri, in which 18 soldiers lost their lives, the trainees and staff of CIDC observed 2 minutes’ silence on 20th Sept, 2016 in morning assembly at the centre.

A candlelight march in Gorakhpur city was organized to pay homage to martyrs on 20th Sep, 2016. Trainees and staff of CIDC Gorakhpur centre participated in the march with full zeal. The Honourable Mayor and other dignitaries were present in the march.

Environmental Awareness Rally on 26th Sept, 2016:

'Environmental Awareness Rally’ was organized by CIDC, Gorakhpur on September 26, 2016.The centre in charge in his inaugural speech emphasized the protection of environment and need of good environment for good health. He said, ‘It is the basic duty of every citizen of India to preserve and protect environment.’ This Rally began from the training campus and proceeded towards main city. During the rally, students raised the slogans related to the protection of environment, and thereby, tried to create awareness among the public. More than 150 trainees and staff of CIDC took part in this rally. Rally was coordinated by Mr Pradeep Paswan, centre in charge, and Mr Rakesh Kumar, Officer Training.
