Tulang Bawang district was formed in 1997through the secretariat Preparation TulangBawang regency. This determination by letterdated 14 No.821.2/II/09/97 Governor's decision onthe appointment of Regent Januari1997 Level IIpreparation Tulang Bawang. Menggala town hasa very old history, where Menggala is known asthe Paris of Lampung. The population of TulangBawang regency until the end of 2001 amountedto 711 886 inhabitants.
