knowledge, skills, attitude and

social behavior of employees for

doing a particular job.

Team TrainingTeam training throws light on:

Team training covers two areas:

• Content tasks• Group processes

• Content tasks- specify the team’s goals such as cost control and problem solving

• Group processes- reflect the way members function as a team

Refresher training

• Rapid changes in technology causes refresher training.

Eg:- computerization in an organization.

• Short term courses are conducted for refresher training

• Training is done at regular intervals• Training is conducted by outside

consultants or specialists.

Creativity training

Creativity training focus on three

things:

• Breaking away

• Generate new ideas

• Delaying judgement

Breaking away-

• identify the dominant ideas

influencing his own thinking

• define the boundaries within which he

is working

• bring the assumptions out into the

open and challenge everything

• trainee should open his mind

• look at the problem from all the

possible angles

• list as many alternative approaches

Delaying judgement-

To promote creative thinking,

• Trainee should not kill off ideas too

quickly

• Generate as many ideas as possible

• Allow ideas to grow a little

Diversity Training• Diversity training considers all of the

diverse dimensions in the workplace-

race, gender, age, disabilities, lifestyles,

culture, education, ideas and

backgrounds- while designing a training

programme.

• It aims to create better cross cultural

sensitivity.

• It aims to create more harmonious and

fruitful working relationship among

firm’s employees.

• The program cover two things

i. Awareness building: helps employees

appreciate the key benefit of diversity

ii.Skills building: offers the knowledge,

skills and abilities required for working

Literacy Training• Aims to improve reading, writing,

speaking and arithmetic skills.

• Focuses on lower level employees.

• Literacy training focus on the basic

skills required to perform a job

adequately and capitalize on most

worker’s motivation to get help in

particular area
