Description: BrainPOP is a K-6 website for students and staff that creates animated curriculum-based content that is aligned to state standards. Description: Britannica School is a safe, up-to-date and age-appropriate resource for students to use in their research at the elementary level in social studies, science and more.
Description: Clever connects School Tool to many of the subscriptions that you see in this document. Through Clever, students and staff only need to remember their one District username and password to gain access to many of our digital resources.

Description: CultureGrams from ProQuest includes World, Kids, and States editions, also Famous People, Recipe Collections, and World-Wide Photo Gallery.
Description: Through EBSCO, students and staff have access to AP Images, which offers primary source news photos and graphic content from the 1840’s through today, with more than 3,000 photos added daily. The Poetry & Short Story Reference Center provides a historically rich collection of thousands of classic and contemporary poems, as well as short stories, biographies and authoritative essays on such topics as poetic forms, movements, and techniques. Finally, the Ultra Online Package with Literary Reference Center includes the Literary Reference Center, MAS Ultra: School Edition, Newspaper Source, Health Source, Consumer Edition, TOPIC search, Professional Development Collection, and ERIC.

Description: Through Facts on File, students and staff have access to their Issues & Controversies collection which offers by the numbers statistical overview of major issues, newspaper editorials, primary documents, a directory of contact for organizations, and curriculum/study aids. Also through Facts on File is access to the Science Online collection with a wealth of content and dynamic design that facilitates STEM research and learning with a comprehensive overview of a broad range of scientific disciplines.

Description: FamilyID is a secure registration site that provides student athletes and their families a user-friendly way to ensure all of their required information is submitted. Student information can be used for multiple seasons.
Description: Through Gale, students and staff have access to the Questia High School and Archive Bundle which includes 24/7 access to an online collection of over 14,000 copyrighted books, digitized from cover to cover to include full text, and ranked by Lexile level. It includes research tools for advanced searching, book marking, highlighting in six colors, note taking, and automatic citation and bibliography generation. The American Heritage Dictionary, a thesaurus, and a World Encyclopedia are also included.
Description: GradeCam allows classroom teachers to scan and grade multiple-choice tests and other assignments instantly to capture student responses. GradeCam also enables teachers to look at item analysis and use their time more efficiently to plan for data-informed instruction. Students are able to practice taking assessments on a multiple-choice answer sheet (also known as a Scantron or bubbling). **New by teacher request and coming soon for 2019-2020.
Description: Hudl is designed to provide tools for coaches and athletes to review game footage and improve team play in a strategic way. Hudl is currently used by the following athletic programs at Midlakes: varsity basketball, varsity football, varsity soccer, and varsity volleyball.
Description: I-Ready is an interactive online learning environment that assesses students and provides individualized instruction based on each child’s unique needs.
i-Ready Teacher Toolbox

Description: The I-Ready Teacher Toolbox is a virtual filing cabinet with thousands of resources designed to help teachers differentiate instruction for all students. The Teacher Toolbox has been purchased by the District to support the work of teachers and students with i-Ready.
Description: Kajeet is a mobile hot-spot that provides filtered Internet connection to students at home, who would not otherwise have access online to resources.
Description: Learning A to Z is a literacy-based website that offers a variety of resources for elementary students and staff. Reading A-Z is available for K-6 reading teachers, AIS teachers, ELL Edition is available for our TESOL staff, and Headsprout is available for all kindergarten staff and students.

Description: Mathia is an online math software created by Carnegie Learning to assist students and teachers in personalizing instruction in the math classroom.
Description: MyON is a digital library with access to more than 6,000 digital texts. Students have access to reading tools that include text to speech, highlighting, note taking inside of the text, and more. MyON offers students a reader interest inventory to help guide in recommending books, progress monitoring that shows students how long they have read inside of myON for the week, and each text has a Lexile reading level.
Mystery Science

Description: Naviance is a college and career readiness software that offers opportunities for students to explore various options for post-graduation. Naviance also offers students a platform to build and manage their own resumes as well as create goals, to-do lists, and assign themselves tasks.
Description: NewsELA is a database of current events specially designed for classroom use. All articles are indexed by theme and are accessible to students in a variety of reading levels. Newsela can be used to differentiate instruction for students on a variety of content specific topics as well as literacy skills such as constructed responses and vocabulary.
Description: No Red Ink is being piloted at the seventh-grade level for the 2019-2020 school year. No Red Ink seeks to build stronger writers through interest-based learning, adaptive exercises, and actionable data. **New pilot by teacher request for 2019-2020
NutriKids

Description: From Class Notebook to Word and many things in between, Office 365 gives students and staff access to all that Microsoft has to offer through apps or online. Staff will use their Midlakes email along with their network password to log-in. Students will use first name, last name and their student identification number.
Pebble Go

Description: Pebble Go is a database for reading and research. Databases are simple to navigate and offer key reading supports such as read-along audio and word-by-word highlighting. This database is specifically designed for younger audiences. Midlakes has purchased animals, biographies, science, and social studies in both English and Spanish.

Description: Problem-Attic is an online database of more than 260,000 questions from well-respected sources that allow staff to either print or upload to Schoology.
Description: The Integrated Social Studies/ELA Curriculum is a user-friendly resource developed by teachers for teachers from the Putnam Northern Westchester region and beyond. Updated annually, the resource is based on the New York State Social Studies Framework adopted by the Board of Regents in 2014, integrates the New York State Common Core Learning Standards for English Language Arts and Literacy, and uses an Understanding by Design (UBD) template.
Renaissance Learning

Description: Renaissance Learning is an online website that offers a variety of resources to support students in the areas of math and reading. Midlakes has purchased Accelerated Reader, which offers students the opportunity to answer comprehension quizzes to demonstrate that they have read and understood a text. STAR Reading and STAR Math are assessment tools utilized by our 7th and 8th grade teams to show growth and find opportunities for improvement.
