Principals F. Scott Allshouse from Copeland Middle School and Mark Schwarz from Thomas Jefferson School introduced students James Morris (RT) and Thomas Ortega (RB) and spoke about each of our recipients, outlining their outstanding qualifications for this award. ROCKAWAY ROTARY HONORS MIDDLE SCHOOL MUSIC DEPARTMENTS At this past Wednesday’s club meeting, the Rockaway Rotary Club presented the music departments of Thomas Jefferson School (RB) and Copeland Middle School (RT) donations of $300 in memory of former club president (79-80) and Broadway star, Earl Sauvain, who died this past year. Earl starred in many Broadway productions including being cast in the original “Annie Get Your Gun” by Richard Rodgers. Earl was honored as a Paul Harris Fellow and also was chairman of the district Scholarship Committee during his membership in our club. PROPOSED NEW MEMBER Cheryl (Cheri) Foster, owner of Mane Attraction Salon on Route 46, has been recommended for membership by Susan Simon-Spada and has been approved by the Board of Directors. Anyone with questions or wishing to comment on this proposed membership should contact President Janice. EASTER BUNNY BREAKFAST “THANK YOU” to all who helped make our breakfast a success, the Rotarians who assisted with the greeting, serving, etc., Hannah Ferguson, Lily Kass, and Zach Steinberg for taking the Easter Bunny pictures, and all community members who came to enjoy the breakfast and support our charitable efforts. A special recognition to Applebee’s of Rockaway for hosting the event and to President Janice for chairing the breakfast…. and of course, thank you to our very own “Easter Bunny” who returned from the hills to join the fun!
