STARTING LINE-UP RECORDS
} } BREAKING BARRIERS} Former TSU women’s basketball player K.K. Brunson (1997-00) made history earlier this year when she was named Head Coach of the Mi-ami-Jackson HS football team. She became the first female coach in Florida history.
} } GENTRY CENTER} The Gentry Center Complex is multi-purpose arena on the campus of Tennessee State University. The arena opened in 1980 and is home to the TSU basketball teams. The facility is named after Howard C. Gentry, Sr., who during a 27-year span, served as a prominent professor, coach and athletics director at TSU. The Gentry Center has a seating capacity of 10,500.
} } MCLENDON COURT} The McLendon Court was named in honor of TSU and legendary Basket-ball Hall of Fame head coach John B. McLendon. The court was dedicated in 1992 when the Tigers hosted Eastern Kentucky. In August 2015, the old court was replaced with brand new floor boards. Due to a flood caused by a rainstorm in September, TSU is using a replacement court until McClen-don court is repaired and reinstalled at a later date.
} } AT HOME LAST SEASON} Last season, TSU posted a winning record in the Gentry Center. The Lady Tigers were 9-3 overall, 5-3 in OVC games and 4-0 in non-confer-ence match-ups.
} } LADY TIGERS ADD FOUR} TSU signed four players to NLI’s during the early signing period.
} } FREE-THROWS} TSU has not shot well from the free-throw line to begin the season. The Lady Tigers are only shooting 55.0 percent (11-of-20) from the charity stripe.
} } BEATTY CAREER HIGH} Senior Diamond Beatty scored a career-high 23 points after shoot-ing 8-of-15 from the field and 5-of-10 from three-point range against Arkansas State.
} } CLOSE TO HOME}The Tournament in Las Vegas will be the closest that California native Kaliya Griffin will get to playing in her hometown this season.
