Among complaints from the students concerning the subject:Many facts to memorizeQuestions are way beyond the content written in the text book (text book provides simple facts with little elaboration; but the questions are so applied!)Many important words to remember! (confused between terms and the precise and relevant words for explanation)What they read almost none come out in the exam!LANGUAGE problems

SOLUTIONS:Constant study. (Avoid last minute preparation!)Read fraction by fraction. (Dont try to read the whole chapter and expect your brain to record and rewind ALL!)At the end of a fraction, close your book, and try to draw concept map on the facts you have read. After you have finished, check from the book for points you have left out. Add up those missing points into your map using different colour of pen.Paste the mind map onto your wall or table or anywhere that can be easily seen or spotted. If the list of facts are long, try using rhyme method (represent the first letter of each point with a word which will form a catchy or melodious phrase)Identify the content of text as:FactsDescriptive orCorrelativeWhat are FACTS?Simply facts. Eg: Composition of Blood and LymphCompare and contrast two events (mitosis & meiosis)What the heck is DESCRIPTIVE??An explanation of a process eg: Transpiration process, Photosynthesis process, Digestion process, Cell division process, Cloning process, tissue culturing process etc.Every fact must be arranged in a correct order.Because IT IS A PROCESS!What on earth is CORRELATIVE??An explanation of a situation and the effect on something else eg: explaining the importance of mitosis, explaining the structural adaptation of alveoli for efficient gaseous exchange, explaining the impact of a given situation on a biological process named (eg: the effect on the breathing mechanism if the diaphram is unable to function, the effect on the transport of water and minerals if the phloem is ringed), explaining the importance of gas exchange in human.Every fact must be supported with relevant explanation. Involving one or more explanations.Because IT INVOLVES REASONING & JUSTIFYING!STRATEGIC REVISION SCHEDULEFAMILIARISE YOURSELF WITH:

1.Frecuently asked topics for each subject

2.Examination format Allocation of time, number of questions, type of questions and allocation of marks.

3.The important facts given in the text books. Important tips stressed by your teacher.

- Refer to sample answers given by your teacher and past years question.

- Prepare a frame answer (presenting keyword for the facts and keyword for the corresponding reason/ explanation).

- Write a complete answer by referring (ALWAYS) TO THE MARKS provided and THE TIME ALLOCATED.

DO YOUR EXERCISE OFTEN!DAY OF EXAM

1.READ AND UNDERSTAND THE QUESTION.

2.MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ALL THE THINGS YOU NEED (PEN, PENCIL, ERASER)

3.SLEEP EARLY.

4.TAKE YOUR BREAKFAST

5.DO NOT FEEL NERVOUS (everybody is in the same boat..so, you are not alone!)

REMEMBER! The examiners are trying to grant you marks (NOT TO DEDUCT MARKS).ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS. (CHOOSE THE EASIER FIRST BEFORE TRYING THE TOUGHER ONES)
