Fr. Tom’s Thoughts... Padre Tom... No hay nada de malo en ser humano. Esa afir-mación parece fácil de decir, sin embargo, a veces olvidamos este simple hecho o actuamos como si no fuera verdad, especialmente si estamos sintien-do el "desorden" de nuestra humanidad, el dolor o la falta de control o aprecio. Las lecturas bíblicas de hoy parecen querer darnos una perspectiva adecuada, una perspectiva de verdad y conexión humana: 'la voz de Dios ya está dentro de nosotros'; todo lo que se necesita es

confiar en los impulsos de nuestro corazón que verdaderamen-te provienen de Dios, esa voz interior que nos vuelve hacia afuera para notar y responder a quienes nos rodean con com-pasión, amabilidad y preocupación. San Pablo nos recuerda que “Jesús es la imagen del Dios invisi-ble”. La humanidad de Jesús en su trato con los que le rodean con-tiene y revela la esencia de lo que Dios es como amor; “Todo ha sido reconciliado con Dios por medio de Jesús”. Y por supuesto, en el Evangelio se nos da la historia del “buen prójimo”... En su poema titulado 'Mending Wall', Robert Frost comenta que 'hay algo que no ama un muro...' Esto se presenta como una respuesta al agricultor cuya propiedad limita con su y que expresa el viejo adagio de que "buenos muros, buenos vecinos hacen". Incluso cuando el muro parece destinado a mantener la dis-tancia entre las personas y no solo para evitar que una vaca errante se meta en el jardín. “Un prójimo es alguien que debe ser amado, alguien que ama”. There is nothing wrong with being human. That statement seems easy to say, yet sometimes we forget this simple fact or act as if it wasn’t true, especially if we are feeling the ‘messiness’ of our humanity, the pain or the lack of control or appreciation Today’s Bible readings seem to want to give us a proper perspective, a perspective of truth and human connectedness: ‘the voice of God is already within us’ - all that is necessary is to trust the promptings of our hearts that truly are from God, that voice within that turn us outward to notice and respond to those around us with compassion, gentleness and concern. St Paul reminds us that ‘Jesus is the image of the invisible God’. The humanness of Jesus in his dealings with those around him contains and reveals the essence of what God is as love; ‘everything has been reconciled to God through Jesus’. And of course, in the Gospel we are given the story about the ‘good neighbor’... In his poem entitled ‘Mending Wall’, Robert Frost comments that ‘something there is that doesn’t love a wall...’ This is por-trayed as a response to the farmer whose property borders his and who voices the old adage that ‘good walls, good neighbors make’. Even when the wall seems intended to keep distance be-tween people and not just to prevent a wandering cow from getting into the garden. ‘A neighbor is someone who must be loved, someone who loves’. Whoever needs my help, however unworthy, ungrateful, unwilling - that is my neighbor; and I for my part, have to struggle to remove the stones that form the wall between my own willingness to admit my neediness and let someone else in order to heal me. Obviously, the wounded man needed the Samaritan, yet we cannot ignore the possi-bility that the Samaritan also needed the situation to fill his life and open his heart to the God of compassion who lived there. God is always found out there on the road - in the neigh-bor, foolish or unexpected neighbor though they may be. Let us eagerly go forth to meet that God in the possibilities of the best of who we choose to be as the human beings God has made and loves. Father Tom K

La Virgen Peregrina The Pilgrim Virgin

Cada semana una familia recibe la Virgen de Guadalupe para llevarla a su hogar. El propósito principal es rezar el rosario todos los días con su familia, familiares y vecinos. También se celebrará una Misa en el hogar de la familia que recibe la Virgen durante la semana. La Misa puede ser en el patio o afuera de la casa. Mi deseo es que la familia invite personalmente a todos los vecinos que viven en su manzana para la Misa. Esto es con el fin de establecer pequeñas comunidades de fe que se reunirán cada semana y lograr formar sectores Guadalupanos dentro de nuestras comunidades Habrá tres Misas por semana. Cada fin de semana la imagen de la Virgen se entregará a una familia en San Juan Bautis-ta, St. Kieran y Sta. Inés. The Pilgrim Virgin Every week a family is invited to receive image our Blessed Mother to take home. The main purpose is to pray the rosary every day with your family, relatives, and neighbors. A Mass will also be celebrated in the home of the family that receives the Virgin. Mass can be outside the house, in the yard or on driveway of the house. Invite your neighbors. There will be up to 3 Masses per week. An image of Mary will be received from each worship site, Saint John the Baptist, St. Kieran, and St. Agnes each Sunday.
