VALUE OF TEAM COLLABORATION

• Sharing of ideas to learn from each team member

• Communicating with one another in a positive manner to complete

tasks

• Learning to respect other opinions and compromise on ideas

• How to respond to conflict and be able to have positive conflict

resolution

• Recognize everyone has important ideas to be heard

• Help support one another but also be able to analyze and critique

team members work to get the most out of the learning process.

STRATEGIES OF CONFLICT RESOLUTION

Conflict resolution is key because without it small disagreements

can become group destroying fights.

Conflict resolution begins long before any conflict occurs.

If all members are constantly aware of the implications of their

actions it is a great first step to preventing conflict

STRATEGIES OF CONFLICT RESOLUTION

Here are a few steps which groups can take once conflict does

arise

• Stop and think: What is the conflict about?

• Understand: How would I feel in their shoes?

• Respond: Talk with all involved parties. What is their side of the

argument

• Work it out: This ranges from compromising, to sometimes

even backing down for the case of the group. It is important to

understand everything is about the group not just each

individual

LEARNING STYLES

One of the great aspects of group work is the ability to work with

all kinds of different learning styles.

It is important to get to know your group well so that you are

able to utilize all the skills available to your group.

Utilizing all team members skills can make large projects much

easier and much better.

This ensures that all learning styles will be represented so that

your group is more likely to have all students learn the lesson

they are trying to teach.

It is important to always have diverse lessons which allow a large

range of learning styles to be present so as to not leave any

students behind.

Motivation for everyone is going to be different.

• Intrinsic Motivation - comes from within the individual

• Extrinsic Motivation - comes from factors outside of the

individual

• No matter what motivation best suits you it is shown to play a

big role in successful completion of tasks.

• Having positive and productive collaboration amongst team

members is crucial to achieve academic success. It requires the

time and dedication by all members involved in the

collaboration to get the most out of the sharing of ideas and

working together. There are many aspects involved in the

collaboration process for Learning Teams to successfully to

complete tasks.
