This is a chance for you to get to know your peers from across the country. You will only be assigned to sessions you are interested in attending. And, we will be holding a special training session on Monday, May 21 (complete with breakfast) to make sure you know what needs to be done. SUNDAY, May 20th

Conference material pick-up – Attendees arriving on Sunday, May 20th, can stop by and pick up their registration materials and Conference Guide between 12:30pm and 5:00pm at the MFM/BCCA Registration Desk in the Regency Ballroom Foyer. Follow directional signs. Please remember that all attendees* MUST wear their badge to all social events, sessions and in the Exhibit Hall. For those unable to make the advance registration pick-up, the registration desk opens at 7:30am on Monday morning. Chairmen’s Reception – Sponsored by Hearst Television and hosted by MFM/BCCA Chair, Robert Damon and Immediate Past Chair, Ralph Bender. This event is open to all registrants who arrive to Media Finance Focus 2018 on Sunday, May 20th. Meet other attendees, current, past and future board members, MFM/BCCA staff, and Association committee members. Ask questions about the conference or about your MFM or BCCA memberships. This reception will begin at 5:30pm at Hyatt Regency Crystal City in Arlington, VA. *NOTE: Full registration attendees will not need tickets as your badge will serve as your entry to all open events. Others (including daily session attendees) will be required to present a ticket for each event.

Welcome Coffee sponsored by Marketron in the Regency Ballroom Foyer - Enjoy a cup of coffee before the Monday Morning kick-off General Session. (Please note that there will be no breakfast or lunch served on Monday, make sure you grab a bite before coming to get your coffee!)

Monday Morning General Session - The 58th annual conference Opening General Session, sponsored by Deloitte will feature: keynote speakers, Mitch Lowe, CEO of MoviePass and Fredrick J. Ryan, Jr., Publisher and CEO of The Washington Post, who will also be receiving MFM’s highest honor, the Avatar Award. CPAs will receive 2 CPE credits for attending.

Monday Breakout Sessions - Following the Opening General Session will be educational sessions with topics covering digital ad measurement, podcasting, revenue recognition, roundtables, a variety of games panels, the evolution of traditional media and much, much more.

Committees Luncheon - Invitation Only, this luncheon, sponsored by American Express, is for all committee members currently participating on a committee Monday, May 21st, at 12:30pm. Invitations and details have been sent to all active committee members; if you received an invitation please make sure you RSVP before May 11th to secure your seat. Tickets will be collected at the door.

Opening Reception in the Exhibit Hall - Sponsored by Nexstar Media Group, this event is open to all who have a full conference registration (tickets required for all others); the Exhibit Hall will open at 4:30pm with drinks and light hors d'oeuvres beginning at 5:30pm. This is your first chance to see all the new products and services our exhibitors have to offer and to catch-up with all the conference attendees in one place. Enjoy a few drinks and snacks before departing by bus to the Opening Night Party. Shuttle buses will begin leaving at approximately 7:15pm. Look for MFM & BCCA staff and signs to guide you to the buses which will load outside the front of the Hyatt. Opening Night Party – Business Dressy attire is preferred at this event which is open all who have a full conference registration (tickets are required for all others and will be collected at the bus or door), co-sponsored by MFM/BCCA and Szabo Associates, Monday May 21st, at 7:30pm. Great food, drinks, and live music provided by The Original Moonlighters (Motown and Oldies Band) at the National Press Club, located in DC. There will be many fun surprises throughout the night!!! Buses will be making return trips back to the Hyatt Regency Crystal City throughout the evening; the last bus leaves at approx.10:30pm.

TUESDAY, May 22nd General Session Seated Breakfast – Back again this year and open to all full paid/comp attendees (tickets are required for entry for all others), Tuesday, May 22nd, at 8:00am (with sit-down breakfast served through 8:30am.) Sponsored by Chubb, this seated breakfast will be followed the presentation of the Distinguished CFO Award to Marcy Etienne, CFO of Graham Media Group (and longtime MFM member). Join moderator Sara Fischer, reporter from Axios, and leaders of the media industry’s trade organizations, David Chavern, News Media Alliance; James M. Assey, NCTA; Gordon Smith, NAB; and Guha Bala, Velan Ventures, who will be discussing the changing media landscape. Topics to be discussed will include the current state of the media industry; disruption and what they see in store for the next ten years; what they each see as the impact of consolidation; how the move to digital delivery is affecting media, and which of the numerous new initiatives and developments they find the most exciting. CPAs receive 1.5 CPEs. Morning Refreshment Break in Exhibit Hall – Sponsored by Wilkinson Barker Knauer, LLP, visit exhibitors, grab a cup of coffee, water or soda and drop your YELLOW entry ticket (located on in your registration envelop with your badge) in the prize drum located in the exhibit hall. Lunch Buffet in the Exhibit Hall – An attendee favorite event, open to all paid attendees (tickets are required for entry by those that are not exhibitors or full registration attendees), at 12:35pm. Enjoy lunch with the exhibitors in their booths and network with your colleagues while enjoying an informal lunch buffet. This will also be your first chance to vote for exhibit booth awards, extra ballots are located by the raffle drum. Return your ballot to the MFM/BCCA Staff registration desk before Wednesday morning’s General Session. Make sure you stop by the YP Lounge and help with their service project for the USO. Focus Stage – New this year, stop by the FOCUS STAGE to hear expert presentations on drones, the connected car and smart speakers. Also at the FOCUS STAGE will be a 2 part session presented by Steve Johnson of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), titled Run Hide Fight. Check signs, your conference app or conference guide for times. CFO Roundtable – This invitation-only event for senior financial executives from media companies is again co-sponsored by KPMG and Bond & Pecaro. Two hours of hot topics discussion, networking and idea sharing. CFOs should have received a special invitation from MFM, please RSVP to your invitation to secure your seat. (Space is limited.) The CFO Roundtable runs from 2:00pm – 3:50pm. Only registered attendees will be admitted.

Happy Hour, Awards Ceremony and Concert – Open to all full registration attendees (tickets are required from all others), Happy Hour followed by Awards and Concert, this annual event will begin at 5:45pm and run until 7:15pm. Entertainment provided by BMI singer-songwriter DAVIE will begin at 6:45pm. Meet with your peers for light appetizers and drinks. Watch for signs directing you to the reception/concert area. Don’t miss the presentation of the MFM Rainmaker & Working Capital Awards to your fellow members.

WEDNESDAY, May 24th

Continental Breakfast in the Exhibit Hall – Open to all full registration attendees and sponsored by EY at 7:30am. Have breakfast while you talk to the exhibitors about the latest products and services available to your company. Badges required for admittance. Last chance to vote for the Exhibitor Awards!

Morning General Session – Sponsored by Deloitte, Wednesday morning starts off with the Annual MFM Membership Meeting and introduction of the newly elected Board of Directors. Followed by Senior Political Reporter from CNN, Nia Malika Henderson, who will take attendees through the ways coverage, has changed and what she sees on the horizon. The Presentation of the Peter F. Szabo Award Career Achievement Award to Neil Best, Director of Credit & Collections, Outfront Media and then Keynote speaker Todd Beilis, Principal, Deloitte Consulting, will speak about the future of advertising and what impacts and opportunities will emerge. The Exhibitor Award winners will be announced and lastly will be the BCCA Contributor Award presentation to Dee Stevenson, Credit and Collections Manager at Gray Television. CPAs receive 1.5 CPEs!

Wednesday Luncheon with Entertainment – This year’s lunch is sponsored this year by Oracle NetSuite, open to all full registration attendees (tickets will be collected at the door from all others), starts at 12:30pm. Entertainment will be provided by BMI singer/songwriter Julia Cole.

Dessert and Grand Prize Drawing in the Regency Ballroom Foyer – Take advantage of your last chance to network with other attendees while indulging your sweet tooth. Prizes will be awarded during this break; if you’re lucky, you will take home the Grand Prize – an HDTV, sponsored by BARR Credit Services. Attendees must be present to win.

Closing General Session – Over the last days, you’ve had opportunities to explore new ideas, see new solutions, start and renew relationships. It can be overwhelming to bring any of this to life, especially when we return to the reality of our daily lives. This closing keynote, speaker Josef Martens PhD, Katalysor LLC, will close the conference with "Turning Bold Ideas into Bold Action." He will leave you inspired to take action on what is most important. You will discover strategies to bring your learning to life both at work and in your life. You will also learn tips and tricks to unstick you when you get stuck and become unstoppable. This session will literally and figuratively bring the conference home for you and help you reap all its benefits.

(Check with the hotel as times subject to change.) Due to construction at Reagan National Airport (DCA) our pickup and drop-off locations have changed. They Hyatt shuttle will now pick-up and drop-off on the upper level (Departure level) right outside doors #2 and #4.
