Our wellbeing Week this week has been quite eventful. The students and
teachers looked great yesterday in the active wear or favourite sports
team/colours and it has been wonderful to see them all join in their
physical activities each morning.
We were blessed today
with wonderful weather
for the Athletics Carni-
val, with everyone hav-
ing a great time and
thoroughly enjoying
themselves. I would
like to thank the many parent helpers who assisted
today. We certainly cannot do this without your help,
and I would especially like to thank the Infants Teach-
ers for their organisation of the event.
Reports
Next Friday afternoon or evening the Semester 1 Reports will be available
on COMPASS. The Reports do look different this year. There is a grading
for Effort as well as Achievement. These grading are:
Effort – Very Good, Good, Satisfactory, Not Applicable and Excluded.
Achievement – Extensive, Thorough, Sound, Basic, Limited and Excluded.
Excluded means that the area of the KLA was not covered this Semester.
If you have any questions about your child’s Report please speak to the
class teacher at your Parent Teacher Interview. These Interviews are
taking place in Week 9 so I hope that you have organised a time to meet
with your child’s teacher via Compass.

FROM OUR RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CO-ORDINATOR MS FIONA BOLTON…. This weekend we celebrate Trinity Sunday. It is the mystery that there is ONE God who has three distinct persons within this one nature… Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God is, by nature, generous, loving, giving and shar-ing. Therefore the emphasis of Trinity Sunday for us is on our relationship with God our Father, Jesus Christ his son, and our guide, The Holy Spirit. In essence, it is about the 'Love of God poured into our hearts, so we are called to pour out the love of the Spirit into the hearts of all whom we meet'. At school we show this love through our relationships with others, how we unify and act as a community and share with those in need and how we accept and respect diversity in our multicultural school. June specifically is the month where we are asked to show our love for others by contributing to charity winter appeal which is being organised by our Mini Vinnies team. We pray for all those on the margins of life that they feel welcomed and loved. In the Classrooms Classes are busy over the next few weeks preparing class liturgies as a final reflection on their Religious Education units for this term. Parents and caregivers are welcome to attend and will be notified via com-pass of the times and dates. As Naidoc Week occurs in the first week of the holidays, we will be celebrating in week 10 with a liturgy early in the week and an indigenous dance performance on the Friday. More details to follow as the time draws closer. A reminder to parents wishing to have their children receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation next term. Forms need to be returned to the church office. If your child did not bring an application form home, please see me or go the church office if you would like your child to receive this sacrament this year.
FROM THE PARISH OFFICE International Food Night Yes, it is next Saturday night, June 15! Come and join in for a fun filled night with your Parish family. If you are able to provide an International dish for the evening, please write your name, what you will bring and what Country it is from, on the list at the back of the church. Tickets available at the Parish Office or on the night. Adults and Youth 15 and over $15 Children 6 – 14 years $10 Children under 6 FREE Come dressed in your national costume and above all have fun :o) EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS’ and Senior Servers MEETING On next Sunday, June 16 @ 4.30pm at St Patrick’s, Fr Greg calls all Eucharistic Ministers and Senior Servers to a meeting with him to prepare for the commissioning of all in this ministry on the Feast of Corpus Christi, Sunday, June 23 at all Masses. Each minister should be aware that attendance at the meeting St Patrick’s or Somersby is very relevant to the commissioning, and that Eucharistic Ministers who aren’t commissioned on that day will be unable to serve in the ministry until they are. Could anyone who considers either of these dates a problem for them please contact the Parish Office. A Callout for new Catechists Jesus’s last words – “Go to the people of all nations and make them My disciples … and teach them to do everything I have told you’ (Matt 28:18-20) – were spoken to His followers as He ascended to the Father. We have various ways of responding to this command. One way might be to go into our Parish’s State schools as a catechist, or helper, where up to 420 Catholic children wait to hear the Good News each week. When you feel called, contact Alain (0414273654) or the Parish Office to find out how you can help. Applications for Reconciliation Forms can be downloaded for Parish Web Site. https://www.bbcatholic.org.au/gosford/home Or a direct link to the document download. https://www.bbcatholic.org.au/ArticleDocuments/1263/1st%20Reconciliation%20Application%20and%20Information%20%20Form%202019.pdf.aspx If anybody would like a copy of the Parish Bulleting e-mailed to them all they need to do is email Tom Croll at [email protected] with “Bulletin Email” in the subject and their name and email address in the body of the email.
Please note change of date for pyjama day, it is now Thursday 4th July
This winter, our school is helping the Vinnies Winter Appeal by
donating winter clothes and blankets!
Bring in any donations: jumpers, jackets, scarves, beanies, blankets, quilts or any unwanted items that will help keep someone in our community warm this winter.
All children are also wearing pyjamas to school on the last day of term,
THURSDAY 4 July, and we ask that they bring in a gold coin to donate to the
St Vincent De Paul Winter Appeal on this day
Thank You from the Mini Vinnies Team!
2019 INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS AND ASSESSMENTS FOR SCHOOLS (ICAS)
This year we are once again offering your children the opportunity to take part in International Competi-tions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) testing. For over 35 years, ICAS has taken place annually in schools throughout Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, the Pacific Region and South Africa. Your child is invited to participate in ICAS in 2019. ICAS provides an opportunity for all students in Years 3 to 12 to gain a measure of their own achievement in an external testing situation. It provides parents and students with comprehensive reporting of results in the areas of Computer Skills, English, Mathematics, Science, Spelling and Writing. All students receive a certificate and an individual student report indicating which questions they an-swered correctly and their score compared with the rest of the students tested. Certificates are awarded for each year level as follows:
High Distinction to the top 1% of entrants
Distinction to the next 10% of entrants
Credit to the next 25% of entrants
Participation to all other participating students.

Premiers Reading Challenge Premier's Reading Challenge
This week we congratulate Christian in 2G, Remi and Joseph in 4B and Jordan in 4G for completing the 2019 Premier's Reading Challenge. Reading really is your SECRET POWER!
Members form both Training Band and Concert Band have been invited to the Central Coast Conservatorium’s Big Band Day Out on Tuesday 2 July (Week 10). St Pat's band students have attended for the past two years and it is an excellent opportunity for our students to meet band students from other schools, different instrument tutors, learn new repertoire and per-form together as a mass band. The format for the day is group instrument tutorials and then we come together to perform pieces for our parents and friends. More information, including permis-sion notes will be out shortly. Watch this space ...
CHOIR LEADING ASSEMBLY
You might have heard a different start to our assembly of late. The St Pat's Choir have been leading the school in singing the national anthem, Advance Australia Fair with a new, upbeat version.
Thank you to all choir members for their enthusiasm and participation - espe-cially our Year 6 choir leaders who are such wonderful role models for our younger students - their rise the challenge and continue to exceed my expecta-tions!
FUTSAL REPORT FROM MR HARRIS
On Tuesday of this week, 5 teams from Years 5 and 6 represented St Patrick’s at the Central Coast Futsal Tournament.
Some teams came second in quite a few games and these teams were tremendous at how they carried themselves throughout the day.
2 teams made it through to the finals but unfortunately Holy Cross Kincumber knocked us out on both occasions.
All of the children represented our school with passion and pride.
Well done, you were a pleasure to spend the day with.
