Saint Patrick’s Cathol ic Church
December 2012
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
During this time of the year some of us may be very busy
with many things which, in themselves, are not that bad,
like Christmas parties, shopping, decorating, traveling,
etc. These things may add flavor to our celebration of
Christmas—making it the “best time” of the year.
In the midst of the hustle and bustle, we will hopefully
never take for granted to prepare ourselves spiritually.
The world around us may lead us away from the real
meaning of Christmas. It is the message of hope and joy.
As the angel said to the shepherd, “Do not be afraid, for,
behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will
be for all people, for today in the city of David is born for
you who is the Messiah and Lord.” (Luke 2:10-11)
G. K. Chesterton once said that, without Christmas,
this time of the year will be nothing but cold winter.
May love, peace and joy be upon you and more bless-
ings throughout the new year too! May the spirit of
Christmas be always in our hearts.
