Autumn 2:5 www.st-james-chorley.lancs.sch.uk Monday 7th December 2020 Dear Parents & Children, We have had a wonderful week in school and the countdown to Christmas has certainly begun. Tobias and Harley in Yr6 decorated our school tree with Mrs. Richardson, Mrs. McGuire set out our beautiful nativity scene in the entrance hall and staff have all been busy in classes making their rooms look festive. I heard children singing for the first time this term which was wonderful and the children are practising a song that we are hoping to stream on our you tube site before Christmas. We had a special visit from Santa’s reindeer and he even brought his sleigh this year. All the children (and staff) thoroughly enjoyed this. Y1/2 also visited our church and Shelley Logan ran a wonderful Christmas workshop to help us remember the true meaning of Christmas. Children continue to work very hard within their classes. Yr2 were super stars last week and completed their phonics screening (missed in May 2020). They worked their socks off and it is clear to see that many fami- lies have worked hard to practise key reading skills at home. Thank you. Have a good week everyone. Mrs. Greenway Children may come to school for their class party in their own ‘party clothes’.
