Kristofer Wilson St. Louis University, School of Law “The IPT Annual Conference is a great opportunity to learn about specific areas of state and local tax and to meet professionals in the field. The Conference was an invaluable supplement to my courses in taxation as I was able to see how the classroom principles applied to the day-to-day practice of professionals. The Conference is a fun way to network and learn through social and educational events, and I definitely recommend anyone interested in taxation to apply.”

Matt Orians The University of Tennessee (Knoxville)“Attending the IPT Annual Conference was both fun and rewarding. The conference allows students to interact with various tax professionals in a welcoming environment, and the sessions give valuable insight into the intricacies of state and local taxation. I encourage all students, no matter the education level, to consider applying to this beneficial event.”

Jaden King University of Missouri“The IPT Annual Conference was a great chance to network with professionals in the field of taxation as well as learn about specific laws that are being put into place. I had no idea how many different opportunities existed for state and local tax professionals until I came to this conference. By being able to interact with the professionals, I was able to gain insight into certain industries and get a feel as to what it was like to be in this profession. I enjoyed the opportunity to listen in on multiple sessions held by experts in many different fields. It was a great few days and I would recommend applying to anyone who is interested in taxation.”

Dinah Shitanda Texas Christian University

“I would describe the group as friendly and ready to help. I look forward to growing with the

group. I sincerely desire to meet these professionals again who never looked down on me for my lack of knowledge given that I am yet to gain experience like theirs.”

Ashley Moore Arizona State University

“Receiving the Institute for Professionals in Taxation student scholarship was an incredible honor. Having the chance to interact with professionals in multiple taxation disciplines opened my eyes to how vast the opportunities in this industry are, and reaffirmed my desire to pursue a career in taxation. From networking with professionals who were excited to talk to me about their experience to attending sessions led by experts in a variety of fields, I was able to gain insight as to what it would be like to be part of the tax community. As an undergraduate accountancy student, I found particular value in having the chance to attend sessions on a wide range of topics because it enabled me to get a better idea of what I would like to focus on.”
