Instructions Thank you for downloading the Grammar Notebooking Modules. These modules are the beginning of a full set that will eventually allow children to explore grammar through the elementary and middle school years. These pages are meant to be used with text your children are already reading for school. Pages with an identical top and bottom half are meant to be completed over two days. Pages with a variety of sections can be divided as you see fit. It is suggested that these pages be used 2-4 times a week, but how many pages you complete each week is up to you. Your child should be able to complete each module independently and with 90% accuracy before moving on to the next module. Within each module, children should complete each level independently and with 90% accuracy before moving on to the next level. They can spend as much time on each level as needed. Just print multiple copies of the particular level they are working on. If you have taken a break from grammar notebooking or grammar in general, you may find your children need to back up a few levels or modules when you resume. Each module has room for vocabulary study as this is an important part of language development. ©2018 Randi Smith www.peanutbutterfishlessons.com

The ModulesModule 1: This module has just one page and is meant for the earliest grammar learners, typically children in kindergarten or 1st grade. There are two versions of this page depending on whether your children need additional lines to write their letters correctly. Module 1 focuses identifying a sentence as a complete thought, starting with a capital letter and ending with punctuation.

Module 2: Starting with this Module 2, each module has a resource guide for your children to refer to when they need to remind themselves of a definition. You may want to print these and keep them in a 3-ring notebook nearby. Module 2 focuses on sentence types, noting all capitalization and punctuation and identifying nouns and verbs. There are three levels.
