You can't imagine what she can endure and overcome." "Can she think?" The angel asked. The Lord answered. "Not only can she think, but she can also reason and negotiate." The angel touched her cheeks and said, “Lord, it seems this creation is leaking! You have put too many burdens on her." "She is not leaking,” the Lord corrected the angel, “that’s a tear”. "What's it for?" asked the angel. The Lord said, “Tears are her way of expressing her grief, her doubts, her love, her loneliness, her suffering, and her pride." This made a big impression on the angel.. "Lord, you are a genius. You thought of everything. A woman is indeed marvelous!" The Lord said, “Indeed, she is. She has strength that amazes a man. She can handle trouble and carry heavy burdens. She holds happiness, love, and opinions. She smiles when she feels like screaming. May 9, 2021, Sixth Sunday of Easter

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

As we celebrate Mother’s Day this weekend, I’d like to share with you a legend that I heard some time ago. It goes something like this:

When God created woman, he was working late on the 6th day. An angel came by and asked, “Why spend so much time on her?"

The Lord answered, “Have you seen all the specifications I have to meet to shape her?" God went on, “She must function in all kinds of situations. She must be able to embrace several kids at the same time, have a hug that can heal anything from a bruised knee to a broken heart. She must do all this with only two hands. She cures herself when sick, and can work 18 hours a day."

The angel was impressed and then blurted out, “With just two hands? Impossible!”

The angel came closer and touched the woman. “But you have made her so soft, Lord."

"She is soft," said the Lord, “but I have made her strong. You can't imagine what she can endure and overcome."

"Can she think?" The angel asked.

The Lord answered. "Not only can she think, but she can also reason and negotiate."

The angel touched her cheeks and said, “Lord, it seems this creation is leaking! You have put too many burdens on her."

"She is not leaking,” the Lord corrected the angel, “that’s a tear”.

"What's it for?" asked the angel.

The Lord said, “Tears are her way of expressing her grief, her doubts, her love, her loneliness, her suffering, and her pride."

This made a big impression on the angel.. "Lord, you are a genius. You thought of everything. A woman is indeed marvelous!"

The Lord said, “Indeed, she is. She has strength that amazes a man. She can handle trouble and carry heavy burdens. She holds happiness, love, and opinions. She smiles when she feels like screaming. She sings when she feels like crying, she cries when she’s happy, and she laughs when she’s afraid. Continued on next page

Continued from previous page She fights for what she believes in. Her love is unconditional. Her heart is broken when her next of kin or a friend dies but she finds strength to get on with life."

The angel asked: “So, she is a perfect being?”

The Lord replied: “No. She has just one flaw. She often forgets what she is worth."

May this be a happy Mother’s Day for all! Thank you to all the mothers who wake up every day and do the best they can, because their job takes so much work and patience and care and love—and a lot of prayers! And thank you to everyone else who picks up the slack, offers a helping hand, and creates a space of vulnerability, compassion, care, understanding, and all that other goodness that allows us to melt into one another’s arms when life is too much.

With prayerful wishes and blessings,

Fr. William Rosario

Prayer to Our Lady of Fatima

O Most Holy Virgin Mary, Queen of the most holy Rosary, you are pleased to appear to the children of Fatima and reveal a glorious message. We implore you, inspire in our hearts a fervent love for the recitation of the Rosary. By mediating on the mysteries of the redemption that we are recalled therein may we obtain the graces and virtues that we ask, through the merits of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer

Church Stained Glass Windows

Did you know that the Stained Glass Windows along the walls, above the Stations of the Cross, depict the Joyful, Sorrowful and Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary? Our Church was built before the Luminous Mysteries existed.

The Second Joyful Mystery is The Visitation,

The Third Joyful Mystery is The Nativity of Jesus

The Fourth Joyful Mystery is The Presentation at the Temple

The Fifth Joyful Mystery. The Finding in the Temple.

God acts vigorously and gently; it is good to rely on him. St. John Vianney
