River Grove Library Newsletter December 2014, Volume 4, Issue 12 From the Director At this time of year, it is customary to look back at what was, take stock of what is, and look forward to what will be. Looking back, we at River Grove Library have much to be proud of. We worked hard to provide exciting programs and deliver outstanding service to our patrons – and we succeeded. Events such as a visit from storyteller Linda Gorham, trivia contests, and movie nights drew large numbers of participants. Our ongoing story times, book clubs, and teen crafts maintained or surpassed attendance totals from previous years. Boy Scout Alexander Muniz’ lovely garden added another dimension to our service. Because of his hard work, we were able to offer a brightened landscape that nourished souls and provided fresh produce and herbs to the community. As the new Director, I’ve been inspired by the hard work the staff has done and am optimistic that we can continue the positive trends. To that end, we are working to make our social media presence a more interactive one. We’ve updated our website and continue to fine tune it to ensure it is a dynamic and informative resource. Additionally, we are going to be revamping our newsletter – watch for the new look to premiere in January. We’re continuing to develop exciting program ideas and are brainstorming new ways to make information even more accessible to the River Grove community. As always, we welcome your input. Let us know what you need and how we can help. You can reach us by email at [email protected] or by calling 708-453-4484. Lisa M.
