“I am known for my pan-cakes in the family; not sure if itis due to them knowing it’sabout the only thing I cookfrom scratch now… or thatthey really do love them,’’ shesaid.

“Family is important, and Ilove having family visit.

“I was born in Kenya and

moved here the year I turned14, so for many years did nothave the benefit of an extend-ed family – but now many ofmy extended family live in Aus-tralia.”

An animal lover, Melanie hascared for an array of pets overthe years – particularly cats.

“I seem to inherit cats, theychoose me and now I am wor-ried as my biggest fear was togrow old with cats,” she said.

DEMAND for executive rental homes in Perth is on its way up.According to James Heath, business development manager for

Caporn Young Estate Agents, while Caporn had a zero vacancy ratefor executive rental homes priced above $1000, it was also nowvirtually impossible to find a quality rental home in the western sub-urbs for under $1000 per week.

The strong demand for executive rental homes in Perth is high-lighted by the fact that Caporn Young has just leased an executivehome on Mettan Street in Trigg for a figure much higher than the list-ed price.

“This stunning home was listed at $1750 per week and was leasedfour days later for $2000 per week because of the competitionamong prospective tenants,’’ Mr Heath said.

“Caporn Young is finding strong demand for executive homes alongthe Perth coastal strip and quality apartments in the inner city area.

“The apartments generally have to be within walking distance tothe Perth CBD.

“Our company is also finding a very strong demandfor furnished apartmentswhich generally achieve morethan 30 per cent additionalrental income compared to anunfurnished apartment.”

Mr Heath said this strongdemand for executive rentalswas encouraging moreinvestors to purchase qualityhomes and apartments forrental purposes. ■
