OFFICE OF THE DEPUTY COMMISSIONER
SOUTH ANDAMAN DISTRICT
PORT BLAIR Port Blair dated July 2018
PUBLIC NOTICE During the year 1983 the District Administration prepared a layout plan for
allotment of House site and licences were issued as per the layout at Prothrapur village.
Few of the allottees occupied the land.
However some of allottees of 1983 allotment have either not taken over the
land or they are dispossessed i.e. they have taken over another private land or
community land i.e. Path, Open space etc. Subsequently in 1986 some of this land was
allotted to CIARI.
Many applications / requests were received by allottees for correction of the
maps as per their physical possessions. Hence, the revenue department decided that the
records should be corrected on the basis of actual record and physical possession of
land.
The exercise was started by revenue department in the year 2016 and
claims were called and, subsequently 64 tenants appeared for hearing. Their land was
surveyed as per their physical possession and records. Rest of the allottees have not
approached the district administration even after repeated requests/calls through public
notice.
However, the Revenue Department has decided to provide last and final
opportunity to all the tenants
1. Who have the record/License
2. Name in Jamabandi register (have deposited LR till date).
3. The physical possession till 2018 on ground of the house sites of Prothrapur
village.
It is made clear that cases which satisfy all the above 3 criteria shall only be
considered.
Now therefore, all concerned persons who have not represented/ not heard
till date, are hereby requested to present and submit their representation along with all
relevant documents to the Assistant Commissioner(Settlement)/ Tehsildar Settlement-
II at Settlement Office, Port Blair on or before 17th
September, 2018 for survey and
map correction. The tenants who don’t represent/present their case by 17th
September, 2018, it shall be assumed that they don’t qualify as per the above said
criteria or not interested in pursuing their case
All such cases where no representations is received till 17th
September, 2018
will be decided ex-parte and licences will be cancelled. Therefore, the remaining
land shall be resumed and fresh layout will be prepared.
No cases will be entertained after due date.
