Introduction

BOTENIZER!

The country's garbage problem has a lot to do with lifestyle. Every individual must be responsible for the wastes he generates. Considering that we are among the most populated in the world, (according to Central Intelligence Agency <CIA>, the Philippines population last 2012 was 103,775,002) with the amount of trash each of us produces, it is no surprise that our lands have become the largest dumpsite, (according to Department of Environment and Natural Resources <DENR>, a single resident produces an average of 0.7 kilogram of waste a day).

Our streets are lined with garbage, our waters flooded, and our creeks clogged with trash, even our mountains are junk. Citing records from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, the DENR said Metro Manila produced about 8,400 to 8,600 tons of trash per day.

INTRODUCTION

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY:We came up to this idea because we are bothered by the

scenario at our canteen (Tayuman). Large amount of plastic bottles were scattered around the area. According to one of the janitors of the school canteen, 10 to 12 black garbage bags containing plastic bottles were being collected during school days.

We decided to research on how we can turn those plastic bottles into something useable. And that’s why we ended up with Botenizer.

Botenizer came from the word “Bote” and “organizer”. “Bote” is a Filipino term for bottle. And “Nizer” from the word organizer, which pertains to an object that is used in organizing or arranging objects in an orderly way.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM:The improper waste disposal of garbage, specifically plastic bottles is one of the reasons of dirty surroundings.

OBJECTIVEs of the Study:•Lessen the plastic bottle garbage•Earn profit by means of recycling•To promote cleanliness of the environment

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION:

This study of the product only covers the use of plastic bottles as an organizer. It enables us to become more creative and innovative to convert a plain plastic bottle to a more useful one.

This study of the product is only limited as an organizer. This study is limited only at the Technological University of the Philippines since our target market is students.

2. And if we have a clean environment, we will have a healthy lifestyle because we are free from diseases like dengue.

DEFINITION OF TERMS:•PET BOTTLE- Polyethylene terephthalate (sometimes written poly(ethylene terephthalate)), commonly abbreviated PET, PETE, or the obsolete PETP or PET-P, is a thermoplastic polymer resin of the polyester family and is used in synthetic fibers; beverage, food and other liquid containers; thermoforming applications; and engineering resins often in combination with glass fiber. The term polyethylene terephthalate is a source of confusion because this substance, PET, does not contain polyethylene. Thus, the alternate form, poly(ethylene terephthalate), is often used in scholarly journals for the sake of accuracy and clarity.

Conclusion:We therefore conclude that the product we made is really useful because in just one raw material we come up with 3 different variants of product.

Recommendation:We recommend this product to those who are saving their money and wants an affordable product like pencil holder, coin purse and alkansya.
