Be in prayer for Heather Bodem recovering from a 15 hour surgery to remove 90% of a tumor on her brain stem. Pray for a complete recovery and peace and comfort for Heather and her family Dennis & Beverly Bodem and Mark & Dawn Bluck. 5. Pray for Jesse Paul that he receives a heart for a transplant. He requires a transplant as soon as possible. Give him strength and support during this me of waing. 6. Be in prayer for Rod & Lori Kaye and their family. Giving them comfort and peace. 7. Blessing, Bob Sullivan is home but needs prayer that the infecon does not return to his wound. 8. Pray for healing, strength and protecon over the marriages of our church families. Please remember them in your prayers. Communion It is our joy this morning to celebrate the Lord’s Supper (Communion). Here at Word of Life we practice an “open” communion. This means that anyone who has accepted the free gift of salvation through faith alone in Jesus Christ may participate with our church family in the taking of the bread and cup. Please examine your heart this morning and join us in celebration. (Gluten free Communion wafers are availa- ble at the Welcome Center). Benevolent Offering Each Communion Sunday we take a Benevolent Offering. These funds are channeled to people with special needs. You may use the Benevo- lent Offering envelope in the pew rack and place it in the offering plate for your offering. Let’s join our hearts together and remember to pray for all our students; from K- college as they encounter many challenges both intellectually and socially each day— let’s pray that they remain faithful in their walk with the Lord. Special Business Meeting Mark your calendar for the Special Business Meeting, December 9th beginning at 5:30 PM. The following officers of the church are to be approved for nomination by the Elder team and elected by the Church: Church Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Church Clerk, Trustees, Deacons and Deaconesses. Responsibilities and qualifications can be found in the Church Bylaws. A tentative ballot of candidates and a draft agenda is posted on the lower entrance bulletin board and in the foyer hall on the credenza. Angel Tree You can change the life of a prisoner's child forever this Christmas. Word of Life has 12 children to sponsor for the Angel Tree this year. If you are interested in sponsoring a child please visit the information table in the foyer. Christmas Cookies The Alpena Gideon's will be assembling Christmas packages for those incar- cerated in the local county jails. The Gideon’s are asking WOL if we would like to participate by providing homemade cookies. Please bake your cookies and deliver them to New Life Christian Fellowship, 317 S. Ripley, Alpena on Tuesday, December 18th, Wednesday, December 19th or Thursday, Decem- ber 20th between the hours of 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
