Task Teams remote teaching session
Microsoft Teams class lesson starts at 9am.
Please log on 5 minutes before and have the resources listed below ready.
Shape poetry, also called
concrete poetry, develops the
physical form of the words on
paper. So, a poem about the
stars would take the shape of
a star (or stars). For example:
The start of this poem reads: Twinkling star, bright and beautiful! It glows and sparkles in the sky. It is a burning ball of fire far away, far away. Shining during night, yes, but also during every single day.
Task:
Choose an object – either from around the house, outside or one that you really like. Mr Miller would choose a hockey stick.
Go outside with a piece of paper/book/notepad and pencil/pen. Sit somewhere and with your eyes closed think about what you can hear, smell touch, taste. Then, with your eyes open what can you see.
Write down what you see, hear, smell, touch and taste. You may like to draw pictures of these things.
Write in you homegroup channel three words to describe the mindfulness activity

Draw a soft outline of your shape on your page (remember to make it big enough to be able to write inside). Write your poem so it relates to the object you have chosen. Remember to paint a picture for the reader. Think about all the five senses when writing – feel, smell, hear, see and taste.
Your poem can be about anything: a hobby, an interest or passion. It is best if the writing/content of the poem reflects the shape.
