Technological progress and globalization bring about a new definition of markets and of competitiveness. Qualitative change in the speed of innovation, faster entry and exit of companies, reduced barriers to trade, network effects, all change the nature of competition and force a rethink of market boundaries and incentives for competition. The specific competitiveness challenges for emerging economies will be discussed as well. Iveta Radičová - Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic (2010-2012) As the Vice-Chairwoman of the Slovak Christian Democratic Union – Democratic Party (SDKÚ-DS) she has been responsible for social affairs and healthcare since 2006. In former positions, she served as Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Social Affairs and Housing at the Slovak National Parliament (2006-2009), as Minister for Labour and Social Affairs of the Slovak Republic (2005-2006) and as an expert for social policy at the European Commission. Because the Kourion Theatre is an archaeological site, guests are advised to wear flat shoes. Guests are also advised to bring a light jacket or long-sleeved garment. A shuttle bus service will start at 16:00 between the Filoxenia Conference Centre and the Kourion Theatre. All guests who arrive at the Kourion early will have the opportunity to learn more about some of the many monuments on the site before the reception begins. Guided tours, in English, lasting 15-20 minutes will be available for guests arriving between 17:15 and 17:45. The Civil Society Programme at the Home for Cooperation on 9 May is open to all participants. However, we would like to emphasise that due to a limited capacity at the venue only participants who have registered beforehand will be allowed access to the event. Please ensure you collect your badge from the Filoxenia Conference Centre before the event.
