we tried doing this by selecting those proposals that showed cross-functionality , intentional collaboration and that are geared towards production

Here's what kind of sessions you can expect

Hothouse : a learning experience aimed at mastering and advancing skills within your discipline / area of expertise.Session designed to help participants to go in-depth in their specific discipline.

Injection: a learning experience aimed at those who have achieved a mastery level in their own discipline and giving them a taste of a different discipline / area of expertise to help them take the next step.

Portfolio: sharing best practice & what works well within your teaching and learning with a focus on collaboration. Cross functional format ( a portfolio approach).

Campfire: a professional conversation evolving around a topic or question, no technology support, informal and unstructured.

Think Tank: a group brainstorm evolving around a topic or question. Panel discussion, focusing on participation and identifying the next steps.

Speed Innovation: Similar to the notion of speed dating. Exclusive focus on Innovation, brief presentation of 5 min, followed by questions and discussion.

WERE IN BARCELONA THIS YEAR!

Barcelona, a Gothic and Modernist marvel on the Mediterranean Sea, is a city well known for its quirky, cosmopolitan, cool character. Whether its by unearthing Barcelonas past in the hidden courtyards of the Barri Gtic, or by enjoying the charms of the modernist city, you will discover many interesting things that make Barcelona one of Spains most liveable and energetic cities and one of the most interesting cities in Europe.

MMost of the pre-conference workshops and the conference sessions will take place at Palau de Congressos de Catalunya - Barcelona

TThe SHOW ME pre-conference workshops will take place at one of the two ECIS Member Schools in Barcelona : American School of Barcelona and Benjamin Franklin International School

IIf you would like to visit Barcelona in an alternative way, while learning, sign up for one of the OUTDOORS workshops Big, Bigger, Biggest or Project Wild Thing

Palau de Congresos de Catalunya: How do I get there?

From the airport: Barcelona Airport El Prat (11 km)

By car/taxi:Coming out of the airport take the B-17, in the direction of Barcelona (5 kilometers), follow the signs for B-20, Ronda de Dalt (blue). Once you are on the B-20, continue straight on until you see the exit sign for salida 11 (Les Corts - Zona Universitaria). From this point on you can see the hotel. Continue for 200 meters on the right hand side of the Avenida Diagonal and take the second street to the right that leads you directly to the Hotel. (Overall duration of trip: approximately 15 minutes.)

By train/metro:The train station is located just next to the Airport. Take the train as far as Sants Estaci, the citys main train station. Once you arrive, take the subway train (Metro), Line 3 (green line) and get off at the Zona Universitaria stop (2 minutes walking distance from the Hotel). (Overall duration of trip: approximately 40 minutes.)

By Aerobus:The aerobus, express airport bus service, links the airport with the main areas of interest in the city. The terminal for the Aerobus is just in front of airport itself and it stops at every terminal. In order to get to the Hotel you must get off at the Plaza Espaa stop (first stop within the city). Take the subway Line 3 from here (red line) and get off at the Zona Universitaria station (2 minutes walk from the Hotel). (Overall duration of trip: approximately 35 minutes.)
