Monthly Teacher Spotlight - Kasey King
Kid's World of Chipley is proud to nominate Kasey King for "Teacher of the Month". Kasey is 25 years old and has been employed with Kid's World almost 6 years. She started as a teacher's aide and quickly attained her CDA and became a lead teacher. She then went on the TEACH Scholarship Program and received her A.A. degree and will be graduating with her Bachelor's degree in May 2020. Since coming to Kid's World Kasey has married and become a mother to her now 2 year old son. Two years ago, Kasey (while pregnant) was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer and continues to battle this dreaded disease. But, because of Kasey's strong commitment to her career and the children she works with she has prevailed and provides the 11 children in her class with a warm, loving, and safe environment that encourages growth and development to the highest level she can! Kid's World could not be any prouder of this young woman and the role model she has become to all her co-workers!

ELCNWF Provider NetWORK Webinar 11/6/2019
1. Quality Services: 1. ASQs
1.1 The current process is that a family will initially be contacted to complete the ASQ online. If we are unable to get the family to complete the ASQ, we will reach out to the provider. Providers have 30 days from the date of the request to complete the screening.
1.2 Reminder, screening completions are monitored in the SR contract. 1.3 We are adjusting the current ASQ process, and we hold a focus group
with identified providers. The meeting will be Tuesday, November 12 at 12:00 PM. It will be in the Panama City Office, and you will be able to call in if you can't make it. Invites will go out by tomorrow afternoon. If you would like to participate but don’t get an invite, send a redline.
1.4 Questions: • Where do we get the ASQ forms? You will be sent a link and you can
complete the ASQ online. If you need paper copies, let us know so we can get those to you.
• If you need us to do an ASQ will you notify us? Yes, we are currently notifying providers by email.
2. MMCI 2.1 The coalition will offer cohorts starting in December. 2.2 Signups will be in next week’s Blast. Please remind the teachers that
this is a commitment of 2 hours per session, for 12 weeks. They must attend all trainings to receive the certificates of completion.
2.3 Remember that if you have any new teachers that have not had this training, it would be a good idea to get them signed up for this training.
2.4 This is related directly to CLASS and can affect your program assessment.
3. CLASS Observations: The 20-21 observations are in the process of being completed.
3.1 The state is proposing (through rule) changes to the thresholds for contracting. (see power point)
3.2 Questions: Is there a focus group to address this with the state? Because the rule is
under promulgation right now, the “focus group” at the state level, is the rule hearings. You can find the hearing schedule on OEL’s website. The Coalition does not have any plans to have a focus group to discuss proposed changes. Once the rule is adopted, we can have discussion to address supporting providers with the rule.
Can you repeat the requirement for a biennial assessment? Currently, if you score a 5.00 or higher, you will only be assessed every 2 years.
Are these rules for SR contracts? Yes, these are for SR contracts.
