two
Last year I had a chance to visit New
York City and Washington D.C.
thanks to our school ČRG.
My first impression when we were landing at the airport JFK in New York City was that we were landing somewhere in the fields. But
after gettingout from the airport and entering Manhattan,
I could see a completely different world.
The world where no-one cares what you look like, whether
you wear a mink coat and flip-flops or a
suit and trainers. The world everyone walks
at red lights and out of crossing in. The world I have
never dreamed of.
I was most surprised with the number of fast-food
restaurants. There were not so many ones how everybody says and certainly they were
not full of obese people.
The centre is full of cafes, restaurants and hotels, of course. All classes
of them, from the cheapest ones to the luxurious ones,
like Plaza, Trump…
The size of skyscrapers is
incredible. All the days
I was walking with my
head turned up.
The night New York was probably my biggest experience. All the neon sings, illuminating and Times Square, of course. To see the night life in N.Y.C. had
always beenmy, now fulfilled, dream.
The biggest shopping mall in
the world - Macy's impressed me very
much. A luxury seven-storey
shopping mall was divided into ladies',
men's and children's floors. Then furniture,
accessories, Christmas goods
andrelax floor…
I should also mention Empire State Building –
mainly because of its security that was more
sophisticated than those one at Ruzyně Airport. The night view of
New York was stunning but on the 86th floor there were too many people
to beeven able to move.
This New York City visit is sure to be
my most beautiful experience.
I recommend visiting this wonderful city to
everyone.
