Rise of Maverick

KB started his entrepreneurial career byselling stone wash fabric. This is where hemade his first profit.

He first launched brand of fabric namedWBB, which enjoyed a short success.

He then launched Pantaloon a retail

venture dealing in mens wear. He then established a small fancy-yarn

plant by the name of Dhruv synthetic inpartnership.

At the same time he took thedistributorship of denims made by Arvindmills.

Menz Wears private Ltd. Was incorporatedin 1987. Its name was later changed toPantaloon.

First franchise of Pantaloon opened in Goain 1991 by the name of Pantaloon shoppe.

Pantaloon went public in 1992 and raised225 lakhs.
